  2. A wonderfully lightweight Precision Bass with a straight neck, fully functioning Truss Rod, uprated Seymour ‘Duncan Designed’ Pick ups, professional KiOgen solderless Loom with Bourns Pots, Switchcraft input Jack, Fender Spaghetti Logo and comes complete with an as new (apart from a small scuff to the piping on one corner, please see next to last pic). Ordo lightweight softshell rigid foam case. In excellent condition with a 50’s style vintage two tone tobacco sunburst. Ti Flats fitted since original pics were taken. This is one of the very few sub 8lbs P basses I’ve encountered during the past half Century, weighing in at a mere 3.4kg - or 7.5lbs in ‘old money’ It has had a really nice set up - level frets etc. & plays really well with a low action and sounds like a good P Bass should, with more growl than a very growly thing from the Planet Growl partly thanks to the Maple fingerboard, but I suspect mainly due to our own John’s (Kiogen) recommended capacitor on this fabulous Loom. The headstock has had a refin & a spaghetti Fender logo applied to the headstock by a previous owner to a very high standard. What Fender say……. Features Thin and lightweight solid Popular body Duncan Designed split single-coil pickup 4-saddle hardtail bridge Open-gear tuning machines Chrome hardware Maple Neck Maple Fingerboard. Plus….. 3. @uk_lefty for drive and fuzz, I found that exploring all bass and guitar options with a scooch of clean blended in and plus/minus some of the bass control on parallel lines was the key to finding good tones. For my always on dirt I think I've got the the natural drive in parallel with the bass drive. Then fuzz, is the fuzz face on the bass overdrive and the bass fuzz on the transparent line. Don't drive them individually too hard, but the summing of them gives you a thickness and introduces some of the randomness that you get in the high frequencies of analog pedals.
  4. Don’t know if anyone has seen his clips on FB or Instagram? Appears to be playing in wedding bands based out of Boston but a really great player who seems to rearrange on the fly. Killer sadowsky tone too.
  5. Has anyone owned both of these Orange amps ? I have the Little Bass Thing and used it at rehearsals yesterday into a MarkBass MB58R 122 8 ohm cab so I guess seeing half power OMG was it loud and plenty of grunt albeit more clean than the OTB Is the Terror bass head equally as loud ?? Obviously more gritty but as loud ?
  6. Unfortunately not mate!
  7. I've been a 'start flat' eq guy for the last four or five years, but I've started boosting my mids a bit. It's brought positive comments.
  8. Will let you know if it does mate. Hes put a deposit down on it so I'm pretty sure everything will go through. Will know by Wednesday
  9. I liked the MB gear i had and i have often thought about going back to it. My only concern was i couldn't hear it on stage but it always sounded great from the audience point of view and they sit so well in a mix especially if you have keys in the band. Must admit i'm liking the BF 212 cab as i can stand directly in front or even to the side of it and i can still hear it quite well. The Mesa cabs are good but not if you have to stand directly in front of them. The sound is thrown past you. Dave
  10. You might be right, I get a softer but still punchy sound with Lionel which might be better in a pub situation. I tend to use a Stingray on club gigs, it’s a bit more in your face and carries better in awful WMC rooms. Ive often thought about looking at alternative amp/cabs but I just feel at home with Markbass.
  11. Its nice getting a compliment at a gig. Its funny but i think the equipment you use makes a difference to what the audience hear. When i was using my VM4 into a SS head and my Mesa cabs i get comments. When i use the Handbox WB-100 into the same cabs i don't. I'm wondering if the SS or now using the TT800 have more edge than the valve amp and people just pick up on it. Valve amps have more depth of tone IMO but they don't have that fast attack or edge of a modern amp. Just a curious thought !!! Dave
  12. Now £349 as I sold the second Tung Sol tube separately. Sale includes the Tung Sol fitted in the pedal and the original Sovtek tube.
  13. The Wind Cries Mary - Jimi Hendrix
  14. Today
  15. Blowin’ Free - Wishbone Ash
  16. I have the crowning thingymejig and the fret end bevel tool. I was initially a bit sceptical of the crowning tool but can confirm it does a grand job as does the bevel tool. You'd still need a file to initially file down the high spot though
  17. Probably a long shot but you don't have a Morningstar Relay Interface, do you @Higgie?
  18. That looks amazing ! GLWTS
  19. This has reminded me of a band i saw last summer at Arctangent Festival. I thought id just stop for a couple songs before heading to the bar but ended up staying for the whole set. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum have a whole lot of strange and an excellent name There was also a band called Clown Core who were incredibly weird but im still suffering PTSD from their visuals.
  20. Pair of Marshall Guv’nors up for grabs. On the left is the original MK1, made in England model, on the right, the slightly later (but still vintage) Korean model, including box. Both are well used (MIE model especially) but both still working well and sound great. The occasional crackle from a knob (they are both 30+ years old) but nothing majorly affecting use. £150 each, including uk postage.
  21. Please let me know if this sale falls through, I hope it doesn't for you but....
  22. Back to pub land last night for Glam Viva after a run of WMCs. A great lively pub in Brimington just outside Chesterfield, The Butchers Arms, a great live music venue. I was a bit under the weather as I’m on a short course of nasty antibiotics but, bucket at the ready we soldier on. Fortunately the bucket wasn’t needed and the good hormones lifted me. Got a compliment on my playing from a drummer in another band…..that’s the second time in ten years, I’ll try not to let it go to my head 😂 Sandberg Lionel into my usual Markbass rig and red/white/blue sequinned Converse Chucky Ts.
  23. Intrigued by their fret filing/crowning gadget. One thing I don't have is a good set of files and I'd only be using them for sorting rogue high frets anyway.
