warwickhunt started following MXR Custom Audi Electronics MC403 Power Supply
-
The MXR MC403 CAE Power System, developed in collaboration with Bob Bradshaw, is engineered to deliver clean, silent, and reliable power to nearly every effect pedal on the market. Designed by some of the top engineers in musical electronics, this power supply is built to handle the toughest pedalboard setups with ease. With eight 9-volt DC outlets, four 18-volt DC outlets, two adjustable DC voltage outlets, and two 9-volt AC outlets, the MC403 provides more than enough power for even the most demanding rigs. Whether you're gigging or recording, this power system ensures your pedals perform at their best, without the worry of noise or power issues. MXR MC403 CAE Power System Features: Pedalboard power supply built for the rigors of the gigging musician 8 x 9-volt DC power outlets for standard pedal designs 4 x 18-volt DC power outlets for higher-demand pedals 2 adjustable DC voltage outlets for fine-tuning performance 2 x 9-volt AC power outlets for added versatility All multi-tap DC outputs are completely isolated, linear regulated, and short-circuit protected to insure reliable operation Enclosed in a heavy-duty housing. Rarely used but I did house it under a pedalboard and I've misplaced the screws that weren't required (doesn't affect anything). What you see in the pics is what you get in full working order (+ mains cable).

Over the last few gigs I felt like I was bringing too much stuff and causing myself tap dancing problems, unwanted activation and cancellation of effects due to big feet Vs cramped board. Decided to downsize and condense from a very crowded temple audio duo 17 to a much more considered rock board 2.1!

Similar to this. If you can write the parts out like a left and right hand piano line you will see visually where they meet rhythmically. Then you start to think of it as one part rather than two in parallel.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
kwmlondon replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Had a good rehearsal last night. Pirate Studios are pretty good and the air con and back line all worked fine. The Rumble 500 was really sounding great- cheap feeling controls but really serves up the sonic goods! The guitarist and main songwriter tried out a couple of new numbers and one if them defo has potential. I’m not sure about the other, too similar to some of his other ones but good to work on. The Dingwall is just absolutely bloody epic. I’m growing to love it more and more each time I play it. For the first time I’m really starting to explore creative potential of tone shaping on a bass. This Neve unit is so musical- boosting the low end a couple of notches when using the Bridge pickup on its own makes the thing really usable and even whacking the Bass up full is still musical! Bonkers but the other guys LOVED 100% bass! It was hard telling them I’m stepping away when my evening classes start in late September but hopefully we’ll get a couple of gigs in by then. Getting home was a total nightmare. I was planning to get the overground back from Camden but signaling problem s meant I ended up walking all the way home from London Bridge which took an hour. Got in at 1am and had to do a 10k race this morning!!!! very tired now -
My go to DI pedal for a lot of years but I'm now using IEM and using an alternative dedicated pedal. No damage, no issues, just a bit of velcro attached to the base. Much more than just a direct box, the SansAmp Bass Driver DI is capable of dialing up big vintage tube tones, bright modern slap sounds, gnarly distortions, and all in between. Three different outputs to drive power amps, recording desks, PA mixers, or simply enhance your current rig. Controls include Presence for definition and upper harmonic content; Blend to combine the proportion of direct signal and SansAmp circuitry; and active EQ specifically tuned for bass with 12dB of cut or boost. THE CONTROLS The controls offer a broad range of traditional bass amp sounds, including such meaty styles as Bassman® and SVT®, as well as raunchy, crunchy overdriven sounds that would typically require a multitude of effects units. PRESENCE controls the amount of definition and upper harmonic content. DRIVE adjusts the overall gain structure and overdrive. LEVEL regulates the XLR and effected 1/4″ output levels. BLEND allows you to mix the direct bass signal with SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry (which is particularly useful for basses equipped with piezo pickups). BASS & TREBLE are active EQ controls, specifically tuned for bass guitar, that cut or boost +/- 12dB. For studio and live applications, SansAmp Bass Driver DI is engineered with three outputs: an effected XLR, and effected 1/4″, and a parallel, uneffected 1/4″. The footswitch activates the Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry. Disengaging the circuitry enables you to use SansAmp Bass Driver DI as a standard active transparent direct box. Sample style settings include Bassman®, SVT®, King’s X, Slap, Reggae, Crimson. Settings are also included for Chapman Stick and Acoustic guitar.

Bought this recently from Bass Direct whose write up I have shamelessly stolen (`Hope you don’t ming Mark!) it’s a great amp and stupidly loud but not quite the sound in my head right now. I have fitted a full set of brand new JJ valves 3 x ECC83 1x ECC81 The Price includes UK postage or Local delivery. Trades……..Cash either way 5 String Bass Unlined Fretless Genz Benz Streamliner EBS Reidmar 750 Orange Little Bass Thing MarkBass Rocker Try Me ??? Heres all the in-depth stuff The TTE 801 is the amp of choice for those who want a warm vintage tone with stadium-rocking power. As with the 500W version, the TTE 8001’s vintage vibe was carefully engineered with features such as an classic-style tube preamp, a tube compressor, a simple 3-band passive EQ section, a “Colour” filter (a tubeadaptation of the famous Markbass VLE control), but gets amplified by a potent 800W power amp that features our innovative Tube Technology Emulator, giving even more tubey warmth. Current technology is brought together with classic tone concepts in a head that looks and sounds vintage—but features some special adaptations of the Markbass innovations that put the brand on the map! The TUBE HEART of the TTE 801 makes this head an incomparable vintage sounding amp!!! But there's no better way to understand “Modern Vintage” than to plug in the amps and let the tone explains itself! This amp is presented in fantastic condition with a gig bag included. At the risk of just recommending what I have, the EBS Classic Session 60 is a great little amp. Looks like there's one for sale here (no conflict of interest to declare!), and one at Bass Direct.

Okay, so I've had the Aguilar AG 4M humbucker put back in, but not the single coil, and just as Dave Boonshoft at Aguilar says, it sounds just like a late 70's model now. Now that's a sound I really like! -
