  2. With original box, sticker and quick start guide Little bit of fluffy velcro on end which is where I used to stick a battery when using it with my battery powered PJB set up It's mini size pedal, super versatile unit, especially if you really understand compression and are prepared to spend time making your own set up(s), Doods review on YT covers it well; software and preloads available from TC website And it is simple to use, just one knob, in conjunction with the phone app playing a tone through the pickup on your instrument to switch between the many 'name' and general preloads, find the one you like and adjust how much, ideal for when the band or the Sound Engineer says have you got compression/you should have compression Price include UK postage with Royal Mail 48
  3. Boss ABY switcher, I used to run two basses on a gig and this made it easy to quickly switch between them. Can be used for that purpose or to run one Input and switch between two outputs (effects loops, amps etc). I have no use for this so siting in a box. Yours for £20 posted. Open to offers. Runs on AAA batteries.

  4. I can get a box from the local music shop by all means, yes. But you take the risk. (I've posted instruments before and suffered a huge loss, so personally I'm very wary.)
  5. Aphex Bass Xciter – Model 1402 in great condition, no box and no Velcro on the bottom. Price includes U.K. Postage. • Aural Exciter® & Big Bottom® technology, voiced especially for bass • Enhances tone, clarity, and punch without adding distortion • Controls: Lo Tune, Lo Blend, Hi Tune, Hi Blend • Balanced DI out + line output • Pedal only,
  6. The V4B is possibly the best combination of tone and versatility that Ampeg produced - it does lovely pre and power tube stress albeit at usable pub/club/venue volumes - in a unit that utterly defies the 100w designation 👍
  7. Sorry for a kind of cryptic subject line. I've been down a bit of a chatgpt rabbit hole trying to figure out what's going on here, but I don't know if I can trust what it's telling me. Think I need some human input on this one! Problem: I get a loud pop when turning my pedals on or off. This is only on one particular bass. Likely cause (according to chatgpt): Output coupling capacitor is likely leaky or failing, causing DC leakage and popping. BUT My bass has nothing that looks like the replacement capacitor I found online (e.g. https://ebay.us/m/62aZgK). It's a Cort B4 Plus AS (wiring schematic here: https://www.cortguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/cort-b4-plus-as-basses-schematic.pdf). My questions for the wise heads of basschat: Based on the tests I've done (listed below), is the capacitor likely the problem or is chatgpt hallucinating? If not, what else could I try? If I can't see a capacitor, does that mean it's likely build into the circuit board of the active electronics module? And if so, is that something I could realistically fix myself with basic soldering skills? Tests I've done to identify the cause of the problem (summary by chatgpt): Measured DC voltage at output jack: ~1.75-2.0 V DC present with battery, 0 V without battery (confirms DC leakage). Battery voltage verified healthy. Output jack switching continuity: Functioning as expected, switches battery ground on connection. Push-pull active/passive switch continuity tested: Switch behaves correctly on both positions. Pickup resistance measured at circuit board inputs: Neck pickup ~3.25kΩ, bridge pickup ~9.2kΩ (normal ranges). Output coupling capacitor tested for DC leakage with multimeter: Resistance readings 0.3 MΩ and 0.046 MΩ, lower than ideal for a blocking capacitor, suggesting leakage. Battery connected vs disconnected test: DC leakage present only with battery connected, consistent with capacitor leakage causing DC to output.
  8. I think the best idea would be for anyone who has a suggestion for a location - such as those above - should check out availability, cost, parking and interior facilities, e.g. available space, power supply, tea/coffee facilities, separate area for presentations, basic stage set-up (? - in very much ideal circs, I realise), and then post the results here - then we can organise a poll or choose by consensus. I suggest we aim for a date in the spring, late March/early April, but I'm not sure why. Maybe because it give us plenty of time to organise, advertise and generally get our sh*t together in good time. How's that?
  9. If others are volunteering to organise in Derby then I'll let them. Otherwise the hall I know of appears to be available on 20th June and I'll ask about the cost.
  10. Yust? I am not volunteering to organise this but I will support anyone who does. I will make enquiries locally (Spondon Village) to see if we have a venue with good parking. The village hall is good but for the fact that the car park is often full. I have two more possibilities to ask about. I will report back early in the week. Thanks for suggesting Derby It's close to the A38 and the area contains a good chunk of heritage. Maybe compare notes in the coming week?
  11. The owner has had the bass for about 5 years. Headstock is matching, but for some reason the colour has faded. Wasn't kept in the sun
  12. The bass is now back for sale.
  13. I'm smitten. Absolutely stunning.
  14. I love my Warwick star bass, I'm always keeping an eye out for medium scales but then realise I don't need another bass as this does everything I need.
  15. Is this still available?
  16. I'm not sure there are many under 40 using single interest hobby forums at all, I'm 44 and still somehow among the younger users of most sites like this. But given the song referenced by the OP, maybe we should be asking if anyone in the thread lived under the 70s Nigerian military government, or a comparable situation (same answer, I suspect).
  17. Hey, yes it is, I've added a pic now. Thanks.
  18. Finally, more or less satisfying setup. I had this DIY, oldschool, solid and bulky single-row pedalboard made from fiberboard for almost a decade now and since the guitar cable was pulling the FurFur (first effect in the chain) upwards, I've decided to fit the board with built-in input and output jacks with their cables. I bought it originally from some kid (he had his dad built it for him, and was upgrading). Originally it had a built-in 3-socket power extension cable plugged via IEC power socket. It also had a "carpet" and nailed-on silver edge slats. I swapped the carpet for the loop side of adhesive h&l, vinyl-wrapped the slats black, added corner guards, and replaced nails with screws, and also removed the extension cord w/sockets to accommodate the JOYO battery power unit. And I used IEC hole for input jack, drilled the new hole for output on the opposite side, masked the imperfections with vinyl wrap and installed the sockets with cables. It's quite clean, but still with neat DIY vibe, so I like it, though I'd prefer a bit more room since there's still one huge pedal I want to add. In the future I will also use a method to mask the holes that is slightly better than the wrap.
  19. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
