The Jazz Bass' natural scooped sound [with everything dimed] often needs a little help - if you set your bass & treble on the amp to about 2 o'clock, that always helps. Also, passive Jazz pickups sound best when set closer to the strings. (6-7mm for neck pickup & 3-4mm for bridge pickup.) I'll be interested to hear your findings if you do end up swapping the pickups.

Ashdown to make a combo that rivals the Fender Rumble 500 & 800, both in power and size/weight. -
Indeed. Dialling in a cab block does require a modicum of audio engineering knowledge. It shouldn’t. It should be as easy as selecting a cab.

A fender Aerodyne with 21 frets A less expensive, far east, mass produced Mike Lull range of basses. I’d love of of those IMA basses with the t’bird pickups but I’ll never be able to save the necessary GAS tokens. -

Hi all, this is a tentative feeler as this cab is amazing, but I'd like to try a different flavour - I'm looking to trade this with either a Barefaced Big Baby 3 or a Lfsys Monaco, with cash adjustment. This comes with the official Barefaced padded cover, and is the 12/4 ohm switchable version. It's in excellent condition! More photos on request I'm only looking for these trades at the moment, and not looking to sell. I'm based in Leeds/Wakefield area, but I travel all over the place for gigs.

I think @Mrbigstuff makes an excellent recommendation. I have a Jet P bass that I have upgraded with a decend loom and AlNiCo pickups for a more vintage tone and it records beautifully. Basically any P-type bass should suit you needs perfectly.

Great, thanks 🙏🏻

Motel Matches from 1980s Get Happy. Returning to Bruce Thomas, this lovely little waltz is reasonably simple, but with the occasional flurry of notes adding unexpected spice. A nice change of pace from the soul influenced tracks on the rest of the album. Motel Matches.pdf

I believe that would come with an Ernie Ball lawsuit

I'm gonna sound like a broken record but here goes. I'd like Fender US to make an unlined fretless passive Jazz and Precision as part of their American Vintage range. The Jazz would have an unlined rosewood fretboard and be available in vintage white or natural and the Precision would have an Ash body, be natural with an unlined fretless maple board. I would also like somebody to make a compact lightweight combo that is around 300w-350w, with 2x8" speakers and under £500. A bit like the MarkBass Minimark but more powerful and cheaper. -

Which was that? I only really recognised "The Whole of the Moon" and "Dignity" I should also shout out to @Steve Lawson - as it was a recommendation on his BandCamp pages. -
I'd give my right ball to see Kyuss.

Note that the newer Schallers have an integral screw, as opposed to the older ones which are a two-part button and screw fitting. Also beware that some 3rd party ones aren't quite exact and I've had them not fit the Straplock strap ends.

Loving the new offset F-series. Would be nice if they offered them in more than one finish though, lovely as it is. Curious as to how much they weigh, and whether they'll be available in fretless. No Z-series updates? Would have been nice to see some more colours, and maybe the original headstock design (the 3+1 that was on the original prototypes) instead of the (still fugly) standard Sire one.

It popped up as being in Coventry when I checked a minute ago. Hopefully that means it turns up tomorrow! 🤞
