… another Lusithand Alma, but this time the new Mk 3: … these are my favourite comps, the additions for the Mk 3 are a switchable input pad, fast/slow attack times and an improved signal path as far as I know. Great comps.

… the knee control is pretty much a clean blend as AFAIK after asking Phil at Effectrode. I need to spend a bit of time with my one to tweak to taste for my 5 string. Lovely things though 👍🏻

Going to see Springsteen in Manchester on 20th May. Not seen him for a long time, and he’s now 75 so may not be quite the 3+ hour sets like he used to do. Still, really looking forward to hearing the band (17 piece) making a wonderful noise.

Sky Arts tonight Saturday) on Freeview at 7pm - Jeff Beck Live at Ronnie Scott’s , followed by The Jeff Beck Story at 9pm. -
Another simple transcription but not as easy to play as it looks due to the push and pull of the pulse. This one is all about the tone and the ensemble playing. Steve Rodby's bass part to the tune 'Letter From Home' from the 1989 Pat Metheny Group album of the same name. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/letter-from-home-pat-metheny-group/

EMU Classic Keys Module This dates from 1994 so now a classic module itself! Made in the USA in excellent working condition. Some rack rash and marks, screen is perfect and all knobs and switches work as they ought to. Comes with original - rather chunky PSU and tatty but complete manual. There are some great reviews out there. UK only sale - price includes postage. No trades. Some excellent demos online and a very complete review by Gordon Reid of SOS if you do a search. £150 Examples of onboard sounds - ARP 2600 ARP String Ensemble Dyno‑My‑Rhodes electric piano Fairlight Farfisa organ Fender Rhodes electric piano Hammond B3 tonewheel organ Hohner Clavinet Mellotron Moog Minimoog Moog Model 55 Moog Taurus bass pedals Oberheim Matrix 12 Oberheim OB‑X Prophet 5 Wurlitzer electric piano Yamaha CP70 piano Yamaha DX7

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

I'd love it if I could find a short scale thunderbird type thing. Always liked the idea and the sound of a Tbird, but they're massively long. -

You know you could be banned for having showed this... Nice work, that said and I like some Béla Fleck from time to time. 😉

Waterboys at York Barbican in Thursday who were great. First time I'd seen them and rockier than I was expecting, not a fiddle, whistle or the like in evidence. They showcased the new "Life, Death And Dennis Hopper" album which I enjoyed, but those with me were a bit agnostic about, at best. Sound was a bit weird balance wise, with some instrumentation not as audible as others eg Hammond vs piano. Bass player was very "on it" (Aongus Ralston) using what looked like a Wilcock Mullarkey for the first section, before swapping to a P bass.

The series before was called the American Special, wasn't it? There will probably be another similar product with a couple of small improvements and something taken away (my bet is truss rod above the nut and skunk stripe on the back of the neck, like the cheaper Mexican instruments and the newest American Ultra II.)
