Sadly, the small developer/company, 'Naroth Audio', are closing their Internet doors. There are few good bargains to have, and this particular one below is excellent. It's a collection of unusual Percussion instruments (and sequencers) called 'RHYTHMUS'. Well worth the £19.00: Rhythmus by Naroth Audio: Unique Found Percussion & Dynamic Sequencers

Ernie Ball Pino Palladino flatwounds - £90 a set
LeytonPlaysBass replied to kevin_lindsay's topic in General Discussion
I did indeed paid for them. I’m just in the fortunate position of being able to pay trade pricing instead of retail. I was trying to be helpful and provide context of what I had previously tried and a light hearted reference to what is an expensive pursuit of finding the right string in the Flatwound world. 😕 -

Does the current bridge not allow you to set the string heights or intonation ? Do the current tuning pegs slip, even after basic maintenance of a daub of grease and a wee tighten ? Does the bass neck dive in all positions or can you find the balance point by adjusting the strap ? £130 for a bit more output but lose the mids which give the P-bass it distinct sound. Not an ideal situation. Could try an Entwistle Neo, PBXN, at £40. Massive boost in output while retaining the P-bass mids. Screenshot of the SPB-3 signal vs the Entwistle PBXN. Tested using identical basses with same strings, pickup heights and settings.

Around five years ago we had a guitarist who was a habitual drink-driver. His average intake on gig nights was four pints of beer, after which he’d drive home. Looking back, we cut him too much slack. He was younger than the rest of us and we tried advice and persuasion on him, to no avail. Eventually we sacked him, but in his eyes we were the bad guys.

Hm I’ve gone from graphite necked midi equipped basses to vintage wooden short scales. Probably about as opposite as you can get!

Always been into 5 strings since I was a nu-metal teenager 25 years ago, and this has not changed. I've had pretty much every popular 4 string going and always find myself going for something more modern (and 5/6 string), the 'traditional basses' just don't work for me overall. Although I do have a P with flats for occasional use.

'To celebrate the legendary roots reggae band - Misty In Roots’ 50th anniversary, are set to reissue their classic back catalogue, starting with their classic debut album - Live At The Counter Eurovision ‘79.' (Bandcamp link) ....which is good news as geting their records (either physically or digitally) isn't easy. 50th anniversary live shows later this year too. ♨️

Started out on a P-bass, with tapes 🙂 80's came along. Embraced active EQ, silly shapes, heady pegheads, neck through, garish colours etc; even dabbled with 5 strings. Tried the P-bass again early 2010's, this time single coil 51 style. That's me set for life 😎

Nice. I have to query, because it's making my pedantism itch, is "but we're joint at the hip" between 0.33 and 0.35 deliberate rather than the usual "joined at the hip"? If so then I'll shut up. I like the song and the video though
