  1. Past hour
  2. Whoops! I never thought about the neck. It's a thru neck. I've added a picture 🙂
  3. I've decided to go to our gig at Rebellion in Blackpool on the train in order to personally save the planet etc... (rest of band all arriving on different days). As they're providing an AmpegSVT and 8x10 I only need to take bass, helix and an array of funky shoes and trees. However, luggage policy seems a little confused - anyone know if train travel is easily possible with bass in soft case? It says max size 1m!
  4. So decision made, I’ve gone for simplicity. My doubling gig has become a full on acoustic gig (with PA support of course) so I’ve decided to go with two boards as the combined board was starting to look like I might be over compensating for something. This will be the electric bass board and has only what I need to make my beautiful basses sound more beautiful. The Capo and the Empress are recent purchases but boy are they good/worth the money in my book.
  5. Urine My Heart - Rod Stewart
  6. Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  7. I did indeed and it is a great bass 😁 Its price tag does not reflect how well made it is and how good it sounds either. Both my semi acoustics aren’t being used for the simple reason all my work requires Precisions and something with 22 frets.
  8. It all depends on the opamp used, some will still work with very low voltage...
  9. Thank you Kev , It's really special and if I manage to move some other equipment I'll withdraw this . All the best , Tony
  10. Your edition is a fake as "recherche" is feminine, the correct title must be "À la recherche du temps perdu". That said any Harry Potter book would have done the job perfectly, furthermore they are available in different thicknesses for perfect angling.
  11. Hi Aberdeen bass players. . . . did any of you play with Dave Innes? I gigged with him a lot down here in London. One of the best drummers I played with, he is sadly missed.
  12. very nice indeed. Dave
  13. Tena Woman - Rainbow
  14. I Can't Keep It In - Cat Stevens
  15. For slap playing, you want the action medium low - around 2mm (pictured) between the 12th fret and the bottom of the E-string. That way you get a little rebound off the strings. If action is too low, it will feel flat and too unresponsive to slap. Also, make sure you look underneath the strings in between the end of the fingerboard and the neck pickup. You should see a graduated curve between the strings. The A-string should be highest, with equal distances downwards to the D & G strings (pictured). You'll know the shape of the curve when you see it. At the end of the day, action is more about personal preference. Some people like hugely thick strings with massive unbendable amounts of string tension with a high action that they can really hit hard, and others like a lighter string, lower action, with lower string tension, so they can readily bend, and most importantly, for the bass to work with them, as opposed to fighting against them. I never thought to ask... What bass do you have, and what string gauge do you use?
  16. It was a light hearted joke Then I started thinking - why the hell not? I know many of us are very busy most weekends, and through the week evenings are littered with rehearsals and other sorts of stuff. But if we could arrange a time when a bunch of us could get togther (a Sunday afternoon perhaps?) - nothing as grand as a bass bash - just a meetup somewhere in the pub to talk shite about basses or bands or anything else you fancy - would any of you Aberdeen city and shire bassists be interested? No offence taken if it comes to hee haw, but if you don't ask, you don't get...
  17. It seems fine on my M4 with external monitor, but not my M1 using the built in screen.

  19. Hey! Where in Germany are you located?

  21. Odd - also on a macbook pro with safari, when I select next page it scrolls up to the paging bar, so below the header and above all the posts
  22. Yeah the XPND only thing I don’t love about it is not a lot of space underneath.
  23. … I think so bud. Great idea tbh.
  24. Ah thanks so much for this! It’s pretty hard to get the word out about these cans all right. They’re pretty special. I’ve used mine with a Glockenklang Bass Art or a Glockenklang Blue Sky. They’re killer speakers. So balanced and articulate. They’re especially good for double bass. I mean I just think double bass is so hard to amplify. Most of the so called acoustic set-ups out there are pretty horrendous. I really loved the Bass Art and Accugroove set-up. Just have had to scale down. Having to use public transport a lot with double bass and amp these days so having the accurgroove and head bass heads is not working out. Thanks for your review of the Accugroove here anyway! Might help entice someone to buy.
  25. Just to be clear the price I am asking is £3000. That being said I am sure anyone who might have an interest in a Bass of this quality and condition would drop me a message to negotiate.
