  2. I think in terms of processing power, build quality, sounds, and price it's still very competitive. I'm not sure anyone really needs more than 3x parallel paths and 24 simultaneous effect blocks. And the sounds all seem good to me. What would be interesting (but not essential) are some more innovative sounds: Synth, Arpeggiator, sample triggering, tone capture, glitchy stuff etc. And I think all multi fx need to put more effort into the user interface, it's the main reason so many people still use individual effects pedals. e.g. if a live situation I'm using a multi fx for Compressor, Amp sim, Drive, and just one part of a song I suddenly feel (with no preset pre planning) a phaser would be good - how realistic is it to be able to do Vs individual pedals where it's just 'stomp on the phase 90'.
  3. Various shorties I’ve had over the years just the Shuker left 😊
  4. This is a bit of one day only thing... I can return it but given that i got it a little cheaper than retail and it's readily available i thought I'd offer it out here for what i paid, including UK mainland postage. As anyone who is looking at this will have probably seen, I've been shooting out a bunch of preamps and I've been finding it impossible to come to a conclusion, seem to have a different favourite every time. With that in mind, I've decided, for now, to stick with the ones I know the best, although I can see myself revisiting this down the line. Very happy to answer any questions you might have! Haven't taken any pics but it's a brand new mantle, used on my desk for some testing.
  5. Have you contacted Allen and Heath? This is a very odd fault.
  6. There are now TWO versions of Logic Pro, one is part of their subscription model that has recently been released, Apple Creator Studio (https://www.apple.com/uk/apple-creator-studio/) and one is the pay once version (https://www.apple.com/uk/logic-pro/) The Creator Studio has AI stuff that the pay once version doesn't. I have no idea what value this other stuff is. I already have and paid for Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, Compressor, Main Stage, Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher along with MS Office (which I must have for work) so for me, it makes little sense to get the subscription. Certainly all my Apple apps get updated at regular intervals so I'm happy with what I have. Rob
  7. Riot Jazz at Manchester Albert Hall. Upstairs for the first time - it’s not the very best sound compared to some venues, but a great view. That’s mininekomatic2’s trombone teacher on the right. A cracking good time was had by all.
  8. Bought new, kept it in pedalboard since forever. Actually I’m not even removing it until it sells don’t have the original box though (I moved between places since buying). It has 3M Dual Lock Velcro underneath, and naturally is in full working order. Wasn’t stomped much - I was usually engaging it through paired DMC Micro. And on rare occasions it was - it has the button cap! Highly recommended. I can post through Royal Mail Tracking24 for 5 quid or we can arrange local pickup in London

  9. No, not at all. However, if the presets are any good you'll find that lots of other people are already using them and you will start to recognise them in other records. And my point was that rather spending money on buying another plug-in it would be better value to learn how to really use the ones you already have. Some of the greatest ever recordings were made with technical facilities that were inferior to what is included with GarageBand and Logic. I'm sure a good mix engineer would have no problem producing a great sounding recording without needing to resort to 3rd party plug-ins.
  10. I got a reply from the son of the manufacturer with some snagging documents I have shared with my repair bloke. I will let you know if we get an outcome.
  11. I genuinely feel a bit sorry for these kind of people. They're desperate to show off their "knowledge" and be seen as some kind of authority, but he's just shouting into a void. If you liked your tone and amp, effects choices then it's perfect. Because it's artistic expression, not precision engineering.
  12. Not in my book. I have a Mod Dwarf and a ToneX and sometimes (always?) I spend far too long chasing down a sound that only exists in my head, that I can't work out how to use all the presets to get what I'm after and what I should have done is simply turn the amp on, plug in and play. I get too attached to the rabbit holes and I wonder what this does, and what that does and spent hours reading and exploring and then come back to what the original preset was set to. Other people are far cleverer and better players than me, so they may have a very different perspective.
  13. This is exactly what I was going to say. For simple recording and learning how the process works GarageBand will most likely do everything you want and you already have it with your Mac. Move onto Logic only when you find there are things you absolutely need to do that are beyond the capabilities of GarageBand
  14. Yeah, it's that blasted "beginners tone", if only I hadn't used my boutique Beginner's Tone pedal. Would have made my "time amp" sound so much better...
  15. Oh, believe me, I'm still fighting the temptation to simply reply with "*your"
  16. Cat Scratch Fever - The Amboy Dukes
  17. I’d still like to give one of these MXRs a spin but I’m on a self-imposed buying ban, at least until I’ve shifted some of the gear I have listed. No need for an editor for most stuff with the forthcoming FI4 update as it adds onboard patch management features. Also now sports a DX7 FM engine too for all those classic 80s sounds.
  18. Yamaha Compressor Pedal rare. Made in Japan in 1980”s. Excellent Comp Tested and works perfectly with no noise £5 uk mainland delivery
  19. The honeymoon period is over and I’m still loving this pedal although it isn’t perfect. Tracking isn’t quite good enough to do ‘ain’t nobody’ live so I’ve gone back to using my oc5 in modern/poly mode for that song. I find the octaver setting on the mxr is good but isn’t a replacement for the OC5.
  20. Olympic White finish with red tortoise pickguard, rosewood fretboard with inlaid bird's-eye maple dots, 35-inch scale length, switchable 3-band EQ with 4-way adjustable center frequency, splittable bridge pickup, all pickup settings are hum-free, manufactured in 2019. The bass is in near-mint condition. There are only the slightest, barely visible dings on the headstock and lower bout. The frets show only minimal wear, the neck is straight and not warped, and the smooth-running truss rod only needs adjusting when changing string gauges. The controls also operate smoothly without any creaking. The instrument comes with an original hardshell case, which is practically new, as I always transported the bass in a soft case. Unlike the more common instruments in the Skyline series, this bass was not manufactured in Indonesia or China, but entirely in Chicago. The US models feature a carbon-reinforced neck with vertical grain, a lighter body, and are generally of higher quality and more meticulously crafted. The bass can also be shipped well-packaged, preferably via DHL. If shipped via GLS, DPD, etc., the buyer assumes the risk. As a private seller, I exclude all liability for material defects.

  21. Dog Glue — The Residents
  22. We are going to do this. Will listen to your take ion it with interest. Some time later --- YES, you play it properly, so many don't play the full riff.
  23. Today
  24. Yeah, I don't think Bootsy does anything as mundane as getting out of bed and getting dressed in the mornings.
  25. It’s a wonderful bass, and so much more versatile than you’d expect, but I’d really like something a bit more traditional. The condition is spotless. I’ve had a good look and can’t fine any fault or flaw. Quilted maple top under graded purple amethyst finish looks great. Plays really well and the combo of three pickups, 4-way selector and 3-band preamp offers a vast array of tones. I’m in Coventry so nice and central. Could post at buyers expense, but would prefer collection or meet up within a reasonable distance. Open to trades for a nice JJ/PJ 5 ideally with a bit of cash my way.

  26. Start with GarageBand and learn the basics first. GB is very very good, and you will avoid some of the complexity of Logic Pro. Focus on playing and recording rather than worrying about some of the more complicated features that Logic Pro offers. You can spend days messing with LP rather than playing and recording in GB. There's so much in GB and as has already been said, one you outgrow GB it's simple to open your work in LP and carry on. I jumped into LP and I should have stayed with GB for longer. Also one is free.
  27. PRICE DROPPED TO £350 Up for sale is this beautiful 12 bit sampler from around 1988. It's a Roland S550 with 8 separate outs and a top end GOTEK drive (with LCD screen) ready stocked with most of the available sample libraries and several hundred blank floppies. The sound in the video is the classic 'Air' choir. The library runs the full gamut of Roland's offering plus lots of other stuff including drum machines/ synths. acoustic instruments etc It's very powerful with the multiple outs. Monitor included. It's B/W and is essential for running the S550 to its full extent. It's in great nick and includes the original box and a manual etc It's a fantastic piece of gear and sounds very good indeed, but I need to streamline due to lack of space. Apologies for the rubbish pic of the back, it's a bit close to the wall for a wide shot but it looks nice and clean and, most importantly, all the outputs work! Pick up only nr Tun Wells/Ashford IMG_4455.mov
