  2. Hi everyone , I have this lovely little combo, I dont know much about it . you can come and test it its good as a practice combo but think you can line out to a p.A. with it. Offers are welcome Not Sure of Value so started on what i paid for it . Pick up from essex , SS7 kindest regards Ziggy
  3. If you get a chance to try a double bass with a lower action, higher tension steel string setup you might find that easier to adjust to. I'm used to playing double bass with Spirocores at a medium/low height, and it takes me a while to get much out it if someone hands me their low-tension slap setup bass.
  4. Now £220 Boss ME90B up for sale, in pristine as new condition boxed (slightly torn) and comes with a very nice boss carry bag and boss power supply. Also works very well using AA battery power. Collection/try out welcome, or UK insured postage for £15. Boss ME-90B Bass Multi Effects Processor with Power Supply is a cutting-edge tool for bassists seeking to push their sound further. If you want a comprehensive FX platform but don't want to deal with fiddly touch screens and layers of impenetrable menus, then the ME-90B is just the solution! It boasts a whopping collection of 61 meticulously curated effects - all from the BOSS bass effects library - and each with physical, tactile knobs to adjust parameters and dial in your ultimate sound. Alongside that are ten onboard AIRD preamp models, delivering studio-grade tones in a compact performance package. This hands-on approach is complemented by an expression pedal and direct-access footswitches to offer you an array of adjustments on the fly. Moreover, the ME-90B shines in terms of connectivity and adaptability. Whether you're connecting to stage amps, house PA systems, or computers, this processor is equipped for it all. Its superior sound quality is assured through 24-bit AD and 32-bit DA conversion, alongside 32-bit floating-point processing and a 48 kHz sampling rate. 5. As new still sealed in packs, 3 sets available £12.90 per set including postage. I have been trying various brands of strings on a number of basses, whilst these are very nice I'm going to Dunlop's for my fretted Warwick. To my ears these seem similar to Rotosounds, maybe not quite as 'zingy' initially.

  6. I Love The Dead - Alice Cooper
  7. Are there 34 and 35 versions of it? It only said 2016 Ian Hill signature bass, so I assume it is the 34 one.
  8. Oh thank god, I thought it was just me.
  9. Agreed! no updates, and no trade offers at the moment sadly but I’ve had lots of messages on FB and eBay asking me to split it up and sell various bits…. I could but… Maybe I’ll just keep it!
  10. Kinda reminds me of discussions I've had with bandmates and deps around playing a part that fits the song vs playing the bass line / guitar riff / drum pattern of the song. Must admit I really appreciate working with drummers who include the fills and nuances of particular songs we cover vs simply bashing out a rhythm and tempo that fits the song. Maybe that's equivalent to us just playing the root notes? Sure it can be "fun" to keep things simple, and horses for courses, if that is all we want to be doing with our music - getting out and gigging can be massively fulfilling in itself! But equally if we don't have to settle for less, then why not aim to be the best musicians we can? And I'm saying that knowing I've got a very long way to go...
  11. Thanks again for all the replies. It was an auction house through their online portal. They have T&Cs that cover forgeries. If the buyer can prove it's a forgery then they'll refund so I'm not too concerned on that front. It was described as 1975 Fender Precision with no real caveats apart from condition. It came from the estate of a working musician who'd passed away, so I don't think there's anything devious going on - just the potential that the family didn't really know. Based on the feedback, it seems likely to be genuine, thanks @MrFingers especially. Definitely nothing conclusive to say otherwise so I have to pick it up to investigate further. I'd like it to be a player. I have an early 80s P bass that I love but I played a 78 at a studio recently and it was very nice. I'd probably try to restore it a little with original parts if I can. Expect a future question on tackling the bridge situation! How much did I pay? .... £1150 including fees. If it's mostly genuine I think that's a good price. It doesn't seem uncommon for these to be around £3K but Rich Tone Music has one on eBay just now (a 76) for £2K. I'll post some updates once I've collected it.
  12. Was it 34” or 35”?
  13. I agree with that approach if you are trying to replicate a Jamerson, Billy Sheehan or Geddy Lee part. For something like the Black Crowes (who I love BTW), I would be aiming to get the feel right, rather than playing it note for note.
  14. Fun morning with my buddies half remembering songs, having a chat and a laugh, and making noise. To be fair we haven’t had a get together since last November, this being a bit of fun blasting through our old new wave songs from 40+ years ago. Drummer was using a newer kit that he normally uses as a cut down set so had a chance to use the whole thing. Guitarist had a new big birthday guitar and refined pedalboard. I stuck with the FrankenJazz, usual pedalboard, and the studio’s Hartke rig. All sounded pretty good where I was stood and generally pretty tight - until it didn’t 🙄 Some songs fell apart when one or other of us forgot where we were in it, but much fun and hilarity all round which is what we’re after. Not really looking to gig, just make some different noise to what we all usually do in other bands. We were the only band in this morning and the youngster that let us in and hung around to lock up after made some nice comments (probably just humouring the old farts! 🤣)

  16. Pedaltrain Nano in top condition with (soft side) velcro attached. Harley Benton ISO-5 PSU velcro'd to the underside. Cracking little PSU - 5 outputs, two are switchable 9/12/18V, I've had it for a while and used it a lot, it's never missed a beat. Full spec and blurb here: https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_5_pro.htm Includes replacement myvolts power adapter/adaptor (which cost about £17 as I recall) as well as the original (euro plug with clunky adapter/adaptor - it'll do as a spare). The myvolts needs a polarity reverser, (which is also included), the original doesn't. Includes 5 pedal power leads and a reverse polarity lead for the LEDs. And TWO free velcro cable ties! The LEDs are remote controllable, different colours (to match your shoes), they can fade, they can flash in time to the music, they're utterly stupid, pointless and completely fantastic. Includes soft carrying case with decent sized front pocket and shoulder strap. This has never been used and is in mint condition. I'd rather sell these together, but I'll change my tune if they're still here in a week or two. £75 posted or £70 collected from Bewdley DY12 I go to Brum and Worcester a lot, happy to meet up or possibly deliver. Any questions (about the item) please ask.
  17. Fender MIM Strat in tobacco sunburst with maple neck and fretboard. Very good condition, couple of tiny dinks - please see pics Frets and fretboard in tip top shape - only been used at home for practice, never gigged. Includes a decent Ritter gig bag. Selling on behalf of a friend (if that's not allowed, please let me know), the guitar is in Leeds LS7 £400 posted or £385 collected.

  19. Personally I don’t think it matters much as long as you and any audience are enjoying. playing an instrument and with other people is supposed to be fun. It’s what I do to get away from my working day where I have to conform- if I substitute a verse pattern for a chorus pattern because I feel like it, or I make a mistake, no fairies will die.
  20. I Hate Myself - The Darkness
  21. Sadly the video files we have of this bass are too large to upload but here’s a link to our Facebook page where you can see it https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CTLc7Rn87/?mibextid=wwXIfr Here’s more pics of the finished bass
  22. Well, I tried securing another potential "not for sale" bass, the Ian Hill signature model, today. Unfortunately, I was outbid on ebay 😞
  23. Just to be clear the price I am asking is £3000. That being said I am sure anyone who might have an interest in a Bass of this quality and condition would drop me a message to negotiate.
