Ahh, so I'll probably never find one like it again. Oh well, thanks for the info.

Totally a Spector! I wanted to love Warwicks, but every one I tried I thought nah, not for me.

I did think about putting up a wanted ad. Still might. I used to have a Mark Bass smallish amp and separate GR Bass cabinet - they sounded great but I found it a nuisance carrying two things. My little Orange practice combo is great because there's just one handle. So the Elf combo would suit (or an Elf fitted to a modified BassChat 8" cabinet). But the Elf in the combo is different, so I couldn't whip it out and try it with a different cabinet. -

Some time back I put a post up in the wanted section asking for an eighteen inch cab. Almost immediately a kind member contacted me about a TE 1818 and we made a deal. The courier gave me an icy look after he'd hauled it out of his wagon. I wouldn't like to gig it without a roadie but as a home fixture it works. It is now an extension cab to my Ashdown Toneman 300 combo (15 in driver). It's impractical, perhaps even overkill, but it makes me smile a LOT. I wonder how an Elf would sound driving it? Just a thought. -
Now £350.00. This amazing emulation of the acoustic control corporation 360 preamplifier with variamp and built in fuzz is up for grabs. Hand made by the renowned JC Maillet and commissioned and imported by myself at great cost. I have used the 360+ for studio recordings, gigs, rehearsals and at home, it has never dissapointed. The preamp sounds fantastic and the fuzz section is the best I have used. I have owned this pedal for a good few years from new, as can be seen it's in pristine condition. Specially sourced UK power supply also included. Will happily run from other sources with the right leads (I used it with a trex chameleon). Fully detailed printed instruction manual also included. Only available as I have more preamplifiers than I can use. Try out/collection always welcome, or UK insured postage for £15.00

Mine are both fabric backed over the neoprene so no more grippy than the average strap. Can't answer for the squeaky end tag, mine are all Schaller straplock equipped and don't make any nasty noises. I have one each of the ones above, no problems.

The headline tax rates in Sweden are pretty high. Their overall tax burden is pretty similar to the UK though, when you tot everything up. For instance, they have no council taxes - their municipal taxes are part of their income tax. There’s nothing like stamp duty or anything like that. Overall, they have fewer things that are taxed, the UK has more “stealth taxes”. My point of view is that, if I must pay tax, which I must, I want to see that I’m getting good value for what I’m paying - over there, the value is far more obvious, with free uni, good primary/secondary education, very cheap subsidised childcare, stuff like the “kulturskolan” system I mentioned above, excellent maternity/paternity benefits and so on. And people are glad, and, in some cases, consider it their patriotic duty, to pay it. It’s a different mindset. Ironically though, they have more stuff that’s part of the private sector than the UK - hospitals, doctors, etc are all private entities there, they’re just paid by the government, unlike most of the NHS. They have no minimum wage, but they have very strong unions for basically every work sector, even for people right at the bottom of the pyramid. The UK seems to have the mindset that we want all those sorts of benefits, but we want to pay US-level taxes (which, take it from me, aren’t as low as people seem to think).

I absolutely love these Maruszczyk ones. These are the comfiest straps I have tried (which includes most of the suggestions): really soft leather, grippy suede reverse, decent amount of padding and also quite wide and load bearing. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/maruszczyk-pes50/

For sale, My Tecamp 4x10 cab in very good used condition and perfect working order. I have been using this for a good while but its not getting the use now sadly. Super punchy sound and capable of handling some serious volume. Adjustable tweeter hidden inside the carry handle to limit accidents! Gives an added versatility to this already great cab. light for a full size 4x10, 30kg according to the manual. Front ported, with a very strong metal grill and excellent build quality round off this German made belter. Additional items in picture 2 are for size reference only. Although the Tecamp 1x15 is coordinating sale separately on this very site. Postage possible at a push please pm to discuss. Cheers.

Bass not cutting through? Loudness could be the answer

Yep. That lush bedroom tone is lost at the gig without FOH support. Without FOH you need a dry mid forward tone to be heard in the room unless the effect is to produce a boomy wash under the band, but that's very hard to hear on stage. -

Ah, so many options Most cabinets on ebay are 15" and wanting a 4x10 really cuts down the options. Plus the ones I see are in Scotland, Kent, Liverpool ... all a day's driving from here. I'm starting to think I'd be better off just getting the TE Elf combo... I can gig it as well as practice at home. But I started this hunt thinking of a £150 15" combo to rescue/restore but that's taking me in a completely different direction. -

I have the same attitude about my two main hobbies - photography and music. When I worked, they were my escape and stress busters and while both have earned me money over the years, I made sure that neither became sources of income that I relied on. This has meant that I can still enjoy both today and I can choose the projects/band/assignments that I get involved with.
