Looks like a brother from another mother! Nice, did look at five string Squires pre-purchase but there were few about. Don't bother droping in on shops for a set of strings. Tried all four shops within 20 minutes of me in Merseyside and none had a set. Thought that was an easy ask, but will just order in future! My squire wasn't especially light, but I'm guessing your 5 is still lighter than 5.6kg?

Modern Music is indeed a great little shop - a real guitarists Aladdin's cave. The guys always have something interesting in there, though along with Craig's Music in Bodmin, their websites are unreliable and always out of date when it comes to stock 🙁 I remember my (ex) wife buying me a Marlin Sidewinder and Marshall combo as a surprise Christmas present must have been in 1989 🤗 I was quite tempted with a white Fernandes bass they displayed in the window. By the time I raided the piggy bank it was gone !😥

Always worked for me, not sure why it wouldn't for you. That's the intended design, at least

Ashbory Mk 2. About 80 black ones were made, at least two of them owned by BC members (me being one of them). There was then a run of ten made by Clive Cherry with Brazilian mahogany bodies, and bookmatched flame maple tops and headstock facing. I managed to get one of those a few months ago. No more were ever made.

It looks awesome, but not £2k awesome. I love me some effects, but even I don't need something that extensive. Was hoping for an updated HX Stomp or POD Go.

My Squier Vintage Modified Modified is partway there - passive but with a MM pickup (and a tarty control plate).

It all depends on what you will use it. I have the NUX and tried the Digbeth, both are great on their own. I believe The NUX is better for going straight to the house P.A. and the Laney excels as a preamp. If I'm you I would consider what is the situation I'll be using it and buy the one that will suit it. I got the NUX and I only use it to go straight to the house P.A. and for that it is absolutely phenomenal.

I dropped you an email the other day about it - hopefully you saw it. I'm looking for something that basically apes the MM Bongo preamp, with those particular frequency centres, so if the Flexcore can have its frequencies adjusted to match the MM ones, then it could be a goer.

I always liked PMT. Changing the name fo Professional Music Technology to Play Music Today smacked of desperation and the stores I saw in the last year felt like they were being run down. So that's Gamlins and PMT gone from Cardiff It was Cardiff PMT where I finally felt like a half decent bass player... I was noodling trying out a TE Elf and they turned the background music off 🤣
