Shows much more detail. At leadt I know I'm not in catastrophic brain bleed or tumor the size of an orange territory.

Yep always take the positive @Stub Mandrel Hopefully home soon tho. Are you bored or just chilling out while staff run after you. 😂

I remember breaking my leg playing footie and loved being in hospital. I had no work to worry about and was able to sit and read motorbike and bass mags all day for a week or so. (Leg was broken in 2 places and pinned)

I would hope they had worked that bit out quite early!

Full Maple Road Festival Gig this coming Saturday night. We'll close the event with an 8:30 start.

The Regner Silver Lining stage has always been tough for us.

I always thought it was paid for thru your taxes and NI was for sickness payments and/or pensions. No expert to be fair but i do recall there being a strong sided debate on BC about it and that was one of the points that i took from it.

If its been said on BC then it must be true cause this is the Gospel according to bassists.

Dave

Tbf I don’t think they discriminate the spending

Think you are correct regarding what NI pays for. I looked it up on the Gov website once.

That's not 'free', it's just paid for by someone else. :|

There's not full hypothecation (use of a tax for a specific purpose) of NI, it covers the NHS and the rest goes towards pensions.

Think you are right but the SE should at least walk around the stage area to make sure the overall balance is right on stage. I know its mainly down to the band to sort out their on stage levels etc but i've experienced ringing on stage that didn't appear out front when i walked out into the venue during a sound check. Luckily that particular SE did walk around the venue and come up to the edge of the stage altho not on it.

It's rare for me and a real treat when I can hear my bass and vocals crystal clear in my monitor.

I don't know why but nobody in the band or spouses or girlfriends seem to be into taking video of us.

The vids I post are from punters that post some of our stuff on Facebook.

An offer of a free drink to some of the spouses does seem to work well.

I know its a bribe but needs must. 😂

Its the same for us.

I never put bass thru the monitors. I tend to use my own amp as a bass monitor and prefer just to hear vocals and acoustic guitar in monitors. Acoustic is DI'd so no on-stage amp.

First Otis Jay BluesBand show with our new singer Cecilia. Also my first show as a main singer, having taken on the ‘male’ songs in our repertoire.

Video shows me giving C some space as she emerges from behind the keyboards. She’s only on loan to us, but if we come back without her I think we might be lynched!

Played Flea Jazz through a just visible Barefaced One10 and a very efficient Warwick Gnome that arrived in the post that very morning courtesy of @spyder

It's weird. I've had gigs where I'm standing right in front of my amp and I can't hear anything.

I'll try that. And I'll require they take the video on stage. Not from out in the crowd. If there is a crowd. Lol
