Pentode
I've got the 'Xtra Clef' on this page - http://www.eyelandenterprises.com/html/straps.html Mine's done with a black strap, burgundy pad and gold clef. ped
An actually I used to have one of these http://www.levysleathers.com/product;cat,1...itar-Straps-MS4 Was pretty nice but would prefer a non adjustable one cut to measure. TBH there isn't anything wrong with my comfort strapp but you know... I like 'accessories' ped

I have at least 4 Comfort Strapps, short for the Spectors and medium for everything else. I've just ordered a Harvest antique looking strap because 'I want and I can'. Not because I need it. It'll be a 'special' strap for the NS5. Price better than the US straps generally too. Not 4" wide but I suspect a 4" strap might dig into my neck anyway. ped
Hmm those do look nice. Tempted with one of these http://www.harvest-guitar.com/en/Top-grade-Nappa.html ped

If you were it too long it rucks up and doesn't spread the weight. Nice at first though.
GreeneKing
I've ordered one of these: http://www.harvest-guitar.com/en/Cow-Marbl...tic-oxid-3.html I think that's the wrong photo as it's dark brown not black. Top right gives a better impressiom methinks, like the nice bags in colour. Dispatched from Holland today. it's calfskin I believe, just as well I'm a veggie then and not a vegan Edited October 15, 2009 by GreeneKing

Really nice strap but ive gone back to using a plain old Ernie Ball Nylon strap. I found the Levy one to have too much grip on my jacket/shirt and it just felt a bit restricting. I do have a comfort strapp but dont really use it much. I guess i should really. Edited October 15, 2009 by dave_bass5

Something in between would be ideal.

They do have some stretch in the doubled elastic webbing stitched to the neoprene pad but I can't get any bounce, just the correct amount of 'shock absorption'. I did own an Overwater strap for a short while and it wasn't for me. That had a piece of elastic webbing on the front between the pad and the bass and the bass neck nodded up and down nicely. Very odd. Some folks swear by them, I just swore AT mine.

No good for me as I like to let go of the neck and then find it where I left it 3 nanoseconds later without looking. Any effort spent controlling the bounce or nodding headstock is wasted for me. I use off the peg 4inch wide leather ones from my high street music shop. They are very comfortable and spread the weight, avoiding the aching upper arm problem I had before. They don't have light up LED eyes though I may have to mention one of those in this year's letter to Santa...

erisu
I always liked DSL straps from Australia =) www.dslstraps.com.au There are a few UK retailers that stock these and a few on e-bay. I bought one of their purple coloured suede backing straps which solved my neck diving problems *thumbs up*
EBS_freak
Just to confirm to those guys - the Harvest straps are still the nicest straps I've ever seen. Bernie has a few in at the moment along with the gig bags so anybody near Brighton could pop in for a look if you wanted. The only problem is, is that I'm looking for a Harvest strap in white... and they don't do them For my other basses, the standard array of harvest straps are the bollox. chris_b
The Eyeland straps look the biz, but for sensible money, someone posted in the last strap thread about Corvo straps. This one looks nice http://www.corvoleather.com/page.html?chapter=1&id=
