I have none of their basses but my Warwick that I bought it for hasn't said anything yet 🤭 You might want to look away at this point but I transported my Fender Jazz to rehearsal yesterday in a Warwick gig bag 🤫 Joking aside the M strap is a game-changer for heavy basses in my experience followed closely by my 4inch wide Levy's strap. SimonK Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago ...that there is a list of kit that I need to have owned (or at least gigged) for at least some period of my life in order to feel psychologically complete. Currently something along the lines of the below, and actually it seems I am almost there! Fender P bass ❌ Rickenbacker ❌ Year of birth bass ✅ Fender J bass ✅ MM Stingray ✅ Fretless ✅ Five String ✅ 8x10 cab ✅ 4x10 cab ✅ 1x18 cab ✅ Trace Elliot amp ✅ GK amp ✅ Ampeg SVT ✅ Fender Bassman ✅ Fuzz pedal ✅ Octaver ✅ Envelope Filter ✅ Quote
The Guitar Weasel Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Weird shaped bass bodies that look more like random ink blots than instruments. Anything short scale except a Hofner Beatle bass ... Rickenbacker bass pickups ... love the sound ... would hate the fact they die more often than old Hofner ones ... If part of my living wasn't rewinding guitar and bass pickups They keep me fed ... so hey. EUBs ... work of the devil. 1 Quote

I've seen several bassists in established bands using the cheap Lekato straps iff Amazon. I have two. Quote

Geek99 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Only really an intense dislike of rickenbackers, however the topic says “irrational” and that prejudice is not irrational, so I’m out for a duck Quote

High quality wireless systems are so affordable I can’t think why anyone wouldn’t have one 😆 At 7.53 in this video the bassist in Lynyrd Skynrd wished that wireless guitar systems had been invented in 1976. In fact, after this incident, he may have been the person who actually invented them Edited 2 hours ago by gjones 1 Quote
silverfoxnik Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Great thread @kwmlondon Really laughed a lot reading everyone's posts...😂😁🤣 What an irrational lot we are. Many of my irrational prejudices have been posted already, but the one that really grinds my gears that hasn't been mentioned so far is this one. It's social media or Basschat posts that we bassists share frequently about our upcoming gigs, with wording to the effect of... 'tonight's office' Or 'today's office' That come with a tasteful picture of some basses and a bass rig. OMG, that winds me up like nothing else because... It's not a f*#king office for f*#k's sake!!! 😡 It's a gig, a venue, a place where people congregate to do nice things (in the main)... I play music to get away from the office, and the last thing I'd ever want to associate playing music with is a f*#king office. 😡 There. Said it. 😬😜 I need to go and lie down in a darkened room for a couple of hours now... 😁🤣 1 3 Quote
