ossyrocks Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I'm keeping half an eye out for another Two10, and this one has popped up on ebay, but it's a horror story. I don't understand why anyone would do this to such a relatively modern high end cab. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/127172633345 Rob Quote
Bill Fitzmaurice Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Give them a low ball offer then redo the Tolex yourself. I try before buying. Quote

Half keeping an eye on it though, as @Bill Fitzmaurice says, low ball offer and re-tolex it. I’m not that far from BF so could get them to do one of their custom finishes… dammit I’m talking myself into something I don’t need 😆 3 Quote
Reggaebass Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I saw that, too far from me though, would look good in white tolex 1 Quote
ossyrocks Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 (edited) The auction does offer shipping at a not unreasonable cost, but you'd have to hope they know how to pack a cab for shipping. They clearly didn't look after it during their ownership! It's the old model, with 200w drivers opposed to the more recent 250w drivers. The panel says 4 and 12 ohms, but I can't see how this would be achieved without the switch option of the later versions. Can anyone enlighten me? It would have to be bought for cheap if you were to factor in a factory recover/refinish and regrill. I would expect a nice condition modern Two10 with cover to be around £500-£550 secondhand. @Merton a custom finish couldn't include a coloured baffle and steel grill though, as the cloth front cabs can't be converted. I reckon my best offer couldn't be more than £250, and I doubt they would accept that. Rob Edited June 14 by ossyrocks 1 Quote
Bill Fitzmaurice Posted June 14 Posted June 14 The shipping should be moot as I'd want to make sure the buggering wasn't just cosmetic. 3 Quote

Pea Turgh Posted June 14 Posted June 14 (edited) I was going to joke that it started with tolex peel, but the description confirms that’s exactly how it started! Sanded the front grille on auto-pilot too, ffs! And gone through the laminates in a couple of spots on the carcass. Damn, what a waste. Edited June 14 by Pea Turgh Autocorrect doing me over 1 Quote
lemmywinks Posted June 14 Posted June 14 (edited) I'm getting a £20 voucher offer with the YUKFSIGZMWVHZ87M code as well so £395 if anyone else wants to try it. Edited June 14 by lemmywinks Quote

So is 4 the default Lozz? And what would the advantage be of a 12 - you could hook up more speakers to your amp? Quote
Lozz196 Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I think they were sold in both 4 and 12 options, with the kit being available in case at a later date a change was wanted, be it to add in more cabs (4 to 12) or downsizing so get max power to one cab (12 to 4). Quote
Bill Fitzmaurice Posted June 14 Posted June 14 They use 6 ohm drivers in the 6x cab, a pair of them in series would explain the 12 ohm option. But you can't wire them to get 4 ohms from a 2x, only from the 6x. Quote

They had some issues in the beginning. Quote

The label is as on this one, but both of mine are 4 ohm, not 12. I guess they made the panel to show both, with the idea of covering one of the labels accordingly, but they didn't. Definitely something to check before use. Quote
Huge Hands Posted Tuesday at 11:21 Posted Tuesday at 11:21 I have 2x very early 210s, If memory serves they are serial numbers 9 and 10. Alex sent me the labels after I got the cabs, and I put them on myself. Mine had really bad Tolex peel issues around the access panel on the back and had to take them back to Alex twice. After the second time, I have not had any issues since. When I was a kid I had my own issues with being a bit addicted to peeling wallpaper in my bedroom. The old woodchip had started to come away in places, and I would pull on it. I don't know how I thought my parents would ever not notice the ever-growing patch of bare wall next to my bed, but I just had to keep pulling at it. I wonder if this is what happened here...... 1 Quote

gjones Posted Thursday at 09:12 Posted Thursday at 09:12 He should just whack some tolex on it. He'll get some pretty low offers otherwise. Quote
