looks awesome!

let me know when you decide to sell it
You know me too well :)

Anyway - I've only sold one amp & a bass & bought two new basses this week (excluding the WW AC) so my thirst for a 'deal' may be sated for a few days. . .
Well done Birdy - absolutely lovely - a gorgeous burst (nitro?) and I love the grain in the rosewood. Is it a clay dot board (mine are pearloid but I prefer clay!)?
Yes its nitro - Not sure about the dots?!? I suspect they are pearloid though. Its an Indian Rosewood board which is slightly brighter than the Brazilian to my ears. Its also nice and light which is a big bonus for long gigs!!

Just a lovely bass - thought is was nitro (a bit more delicate but looks nicer to me - the burst on yours is fantastic!). The LG4s are nice and light (I think mine are around nine pounds - the alder makes a big difference). There's a lot of debate over on TB just now re: the differences in tone between Honduran, Indian and Brazilian rosewood - I'm honestly not sure I get it (more 'ping' with Honduran and Indian). All have beautiful and distinctive grain however. I can't see the pearl effect in your dots (then again, I can't see it in the photopraphs of mine).

Not sure if anyone else has been up to Phil's BassGear HQ in Harrogate recently?

I was there two weeks ago & he's got a couple of new AC basses in :)

This baby really caught my eye - amazing metallic flip-flop kinda finish. I've never seen anything like it on a bass before. Picture doesn't really do it justice but you'll get the idea hopefully:

That's all well and good, but they haven't made a lot of effort with the head design, have they? looks like a cheap'70s Woolies copy.

You should see it in the flesh - it's gorgeous!

Headstock design is common to all AC's - something to do with resonance and reducing dead spots :)

They really are pushing the P bass to the limits there then! I would give you a tenner if you tell the difference between 2 shapes of headstock ,I have seen some silly things on Basschat but really,On one hand people are saying a badass would not make any difference but the headstock shape does,Naah getting silly now surely?

I guess we should call Jimmy and tell him he doesn't know what he's doing!

Agreed, isn't there a product called a 'fatfinger' that people attach to the headstock for the same reason?

I quite like the look of the headstock now but wasn't sure at first so can see why some people think its ugly.

Reviving an old but worthy topic, I've never been that fussed about headstock shapes ... I can't see them when I'm playing, so what does it matter?

Flanker's old KBP5 has been my frontline gigging bass since the day I bought it from him, and that bass remains the only one I own (or have owned) where I genuinely can't find anything to criticise or complain about.
