Its an Indian Rosewood board which is slightly brighter than the Brazilian to my ears. Its also nice and light which is a big bonus for long gigs!! The LG4s are nice and light (I think mine are around nine pounds - the alder makes a big difference). There's a lot of debate over on TB just now re: the differences in tone between Honduran, Indian and Brazilian rosewood - I'm honestly not sure I get it (more 'ping' with Honduran and Indian). All have beautiful and distinctive grain however. I can't see the pearl effect in your dots (then again, I can't see it in the photopraphs of mine). I was there two weeks ago & he's got a couple of new AC basses in This baby really caught my eye - amazing metallic flip-flop kinda finish. I've never seen anything like it on a bass before. I can't see them when I'm playing, so what does it matter? Flanker's old KBP5 has been my frontline gigging bass since the day I bought it from him, and that bass remains the only one I own (or have owned) where I genuinely can't find anything to criticise or complain about.
