No truck with plasma, takes up valuable space needed for caffeine, codeine and nicotine.

I am with you on the caffeine though. A medical professor told me to drink as much of it as I want. I have a chronically low pulse  of around 45. She said “do you drink alcohol?” I said “little and rarely”

“pity” she said

I've only heard good things about them to be honest. They're made in the Indonesian Cort factory, so quality will obviously be pretty good. The standout feature seems to be the ceramic pickups, so they have a brighter sound than the more expensive Player II's.

Surely these are just a rebadged MIM Player series except that they're now being produced in Indonesia?

Don't think they'll hold a candle to the American Standard series (RIP).

No, these are a completely different bass (Poplar Body, Indian Laurel Fingerboard, Ceramic Pickups) to the MIM Player II (more traditional Alder, Rosewood, Alnico 5, etc). And as for the pre 2016 American standard, you’re comparing a £550 bass to a £1700 bass. Apples and Oranges, my friend 😊

Tried a new Standard, impressed with the overall quality with neatly finished frets and low action fast neck. Not over keen on the ceramic pups but planned to replace with alnicos.
On second play at home the guitar had become unplayable- horrible rattling of all strings on first to fourth frets. Hadn’t made any changes to the original setup. The dealer couldn’t explain what the problem was but refunded the cost without argument.

So does that mean you got a full refund on the bass and walked away?

Sounds like it needed a ⅙ turn to loosen the truss rod. My Fender Performer was exactly this after not bring played since high summer.

The dealer let you down.

Definitely truss rod adjustment needed there, the bass had probably just settled into your home's ambient temperature and humidity. I have to tweak some of mine (guitars included) with the changing of the seasons.

What do you feel was wrong with the ceramic magnets that alnico will fix?
