I had and loved this pedal for years but sold it before I got hold of the Grand Slampegg and Bassrig Fifteen so haven’t been able to compare. I’d be curious to try it again. 1 Quote
Baloney Balderdash Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) Just ordered a Tech 21 Oxford preamp/drive pedal from Reverb, to a price I couldn't resist. I already own 2 Joyo Oxford Sound, bought the latest one recently, as a backup, cause it is a pretty essential part of my basic setup. Got the Oxford used for what basically was little more than 2 Joyo clones from new. I hope it doesn't sound too different from the Joyo though, one can hope even greater, and this one got a cab sim on/off switch, and I know it will be quiter and much more sturdily build. It is this little fella' : So looks rather used, but I don't really mind, and says it works perfectly. Let's face it though, the Tech 21 Oxford is not a pretty pedal, no matter wear, and the Joyo clone looks much cooler. Edited February 10 by Baloney Balderdash 2 Quote

Not compared it to anything else, but like what I hear and how it makes the bass feel under the fingers. I actually don’t like that much cab sim applied (takes off too much high end), and like a bit of grit to the sound when mild gain applied. With the comp I’ve tried it with (Greer Lamplighter Optical comp) I think I actually prefer it with minimal or nil compression. Got other compressors to try with it though. Will be interesting to compare it to the Slampegg and Beta Mk 2 at some point (and the TC Spark and Mojo Mojo for less expensive variants!). Glad I bought it thankfully 👍🏻 Edited February 10 by jimbobothy 2 Quote
Skybone Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Trying to find some time to play with a HX Stomp XL, recently purchased from this very emporium. 1 Quote
fretmeister Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Impulse buy from Effects Bakery. https://www.effectsbakery.jp/en I had never heard of them and I wanted a univibe type thing. Most of their models are about £50 and available fast by ebay. It only took a week to get it from Japan and it sounds great! 1 Quote

It's a nice size unit, more options to switch effects on & off during song, and a lot more options / flexibility than the POD Go (which is a great bit of kit imo). Looking forward to getting the chance to muck about with it. Quote

Will definitely be checking these out! Congrats on work promotion and belated happy Birthday @pantherairsoft! 1 Quote

Congrats on work promotion and belated happy Birthday @pantherairsoft! Thanks! The designer behind AMT is an ex-Moog guy. These are built from the same DNA as the foogers, but with lots of modern upgrades etc. The delay and phaser do what the foogers did with a cherry on top. The chorus and flanger are a bit like the Cluster Flux split into two pedals, with some extras thrown in (though the flanger gains some stuff at the cost of some CF features). So far, I’m blown away. Will report back after the honeymoon period. Quote
