Second time I think this one has been up for sale, apparently they are mustang tuners, I was tempted the first time but the tuners put me off for some reason

It’s the third time I’ve seen this for sale.

I wonder what the price was on each of the previous occasions? It's now £6k, which is quite a wedge up here in the frozen north.

Absolutely spot on. £4995 I think.

Seeing some big reductions on vintage gear at the moment. Maybe this is priced a little too high

How much are they looking for? I'd be very suspicious of an old guitar/bass on Gumtree.

Does it have phrases such as:

1. Know nothing about guitars

2. Found under the bed

3. Left to me by Uncle John who played in some famous band.

4. Cash only

£3,495 Rob, which is a low price , I’ve bought some early jazzes and precision’s from gumtree before, you just have to go and check them out properly

Now that is a good price which immediately makes me suspicious. Yes I'm cynical git.

I was in Andover last week as well which isn't that close to Bournemouth but a lot closer than North Yorkshire is.

Can't see it staying around at that price to be honest and it's days trip down and then another day back.

That works, thanks! Been on for a month I see.

Yeah I saw that too Mickey , made me wonder why too, just thought if someone was close it might be worth a look, that’s if it’s still there

Richard Henry has posted what appears to be a very nice clean looking '72 Precision tonight.

I've known Richard for more than 30 years, and in my opinion, he is one of the good guys.

I'm going to let one of you guys enquire on the price....

It all looks right but I'm not 100% sure on the bridge - Wouldn't 1972 still have the longer G string saddle? The holes for the grub screws look a little small too - like they might have an allen key rather than screwdriver adjustment. Could well be a replacement bridge.

I always think I’ve seen it, so have the notorious dealers. I wonder if it’s just the poor photos that have put them off?

I wouldn't mind some more input on the bridge if anyone has a moment. I'm back and forth with Rich about this bass as I type.

Is he the guy who used to be Johnny Mars tech (among others) / tour manager for the Buzzcocks? He used to run a rehearsal studio in Stockport that I used a few years ago. Confusingly, the other guy he ran it with was also called Richard! Both were good guys and the guy who used to work for Mars was always working on / selling some cool guitars, not to mention had some interesting stories to tell...!
