Woodinblack Posted May 28 Posted May 28 For the same price the Luminute graviton will do that. And can talk to the MVave probably Quote
Al Krow Posted yesterday at 08:52 Author Posted yesterday at 08:52 As some of us maybe aware, Line 6 originally announced Helix on 11 June 2015 i.e. today is the 10th anniversary. @Paddy777 spotted that there's a livestream at 7pm and kindly posted the link and comment below 👇 which I've taken the liberty of pulling across from another thread: "That’s what the livestream is “in aid of” or that’s the justification of it, but they’ve really pulled the big guns out - they’ve invited loads of guitar influencers to Line6HQ for it and really built it up. The speculation is that they’ll announce Helix firmware 4.0 which will have NAM compatibility but that could be wishful thinking or completely unfounded - they might even announce or give a teaser for next gen Helix 2.0 but the counter to that is that the current Helix software is only 18 months old and so I’m leaning towards the former, but I haven’t got a clue" 4 Quote
javi_bassist Posted yesterday at 09:05 Posted yesterday at 09:05 To be honest, I'm a little excited for the livestream. I hope they announce 4.0, but I don't want to have any expectations. Let's wait and see 1 Quote
BigRedX Posted yesterday at 10:17 Posted yesterday at 10:17 (edited) Reminded me to install the 3.8 firmware as I don't have anything important coming up for over a week. Getting a better computer since I did the last update hasn't made the process any quicker and 94-100% appears to take as long as 0-93%. The HX edit link to release notes doesn't work either. Edit: And yet again my Global setting have reverted to the factory defaults. It does say in the release notes that there is a problem with Apple M-series computers regarding this, but it also affected Intel Macs on previous updates. Hopefully this will be fixed soon, because it's very annoying and I don't always remember to change everything to my preferences until I find that something isn't working as I expected it to. And... Every time I load up Logic I get a message saying that the Line6 44.1kHz Core Audio Driver will not be compatible with future versions of Mac OS. I've just checked on the Line6 website and the installed version 1.5 driver is now almost 4 years old. I'm still on Sonoma, but contemplating upgrading to Sequoia just before next version of Mac OS is released. Does anyone know if the 1.5 driver works with Sequoia? Neither way has reinstated them for me. All it appears to do is add another 30 minutes onto what is already and overlong process, and the last time I did a complete wipe and restore on my Helix, it insisted on rebuilding all my Presets for a third time when I next powered up the device. BigRedX Posted yesterday at 18:34 Posted yesterday at 18:34 Unless Line6 have added MIDI-triggered filters and gates I'm happy with what I have already. 1 Quote

Possibly a pain. Well, definitely a pain. But it's the way they've been doing updates for ages. I've not lost anything - apart from the time to do an update. Quote
Wombat Posted yesterday at 18:49 Posted yesterday at 18:49 It can all be wirelessly done from your phone. Eventually 🤣 Quote
Wombat Posted yesterday at 19:22 Posted yesterday at 19:22 Get yours for $2000, which will be £2500.. looks great though 1 Quote

Greg Edwards69 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I watch a bit of the live stream, and it seems to me that Line 6 have done something unexpected and are launching a premium, higher tier product rather than direct replacements for the current generation of hardware. It also sounds like the current hardware will continue to receive support and development, although how much and for how long, who knows! For me, I am looking to repair and/or replace my ageing LT at some point. I bought it over 6 years ago and it's showing signs of age that need addressing, such as burnt out expression pedal sensors, one of the encoder switches is tempremental and the screen has started to develop a blue line. I will likely get it fixed in time, but I am getting tired of lugging it around. The Darkglass Anagram seems on paper to be the perfect solution of me, at least it will when promised features are enabled. I'm hoping with the newly revised pricing on current HX hardware, the replacement parts might get cheaper, although I doubt it. It's a great time to be a guitarist and bassist, that's for sure. 2 Quote
LukeFRC Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago From a product design point of view I thought that all looked really really interesting. In a world where everyone is getting super excited about NAM captures, they have doubled down on captures (a good thing I think) They have added lots of high end performance stuff, and midi triggering which I think will fit well for a certain performance type - and exploits a big difference they can make to other systems. utter overkill for me! soulstar89 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Didn’t realise it the new helix stadium was posted here. I posted on general discussion. If people go on the livestream forward to 37mins where they unveil the stadium Quote

Al Krow Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago $1,800 for the the Stadium Floor, so maybe £1,750 over here? vs £1,450 for the Quad Cortex But it does seem like quite a step up from Quad Cortex, which is going some? I guess the context for a guitarist is a Mesa Boogie Mark VII 1x12 Combo Valve Amp would set you back £4,200 Quote
Russ Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago It looks awesome, but not £2k awesome. I love me some effects, but even I don't need something that extensive. Was hoping for an updated HX Stomp or POD Go. Quote
