  1. This is why I’ll stick with Ashdown. I send a second hand ABM500 evo2 to him as it had an intermittent fault where it was cutting sound to the speakers. sent it to Dave, tested it, couldn’t find the problem so stripped out and fully replaced the power amp section along with all the front panel controls. amp is essentially new now and sounds amazing.
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  3. that’s Peak not RMS. Seems a bit low 🤷‍♂️
  4. is that with reference to it being rated at 200watts? i thought that was odd. My Ashdown 1x15 is 500 so if I used the 410he, that’s what it’ll be paired with.
  5. Are they honestly saying those buttons can be used by foot? They look way too small and close together..
  6. of course. I’ll have a play with it and if I like it I’ll keep it.
  7. Just picked this cab up for a bargain. I know they’re not very popular but I’ve never tried one before. Any thoughts?
  8. Although I have no experience of their services, I do know that https://seabassvinyl.com/ in Scotland started up last year and have recently handled pressing for Fish. Their prices look competitive.
  9. some people might think the top and bottom could do with "Shelf" switches. Either way, 5 way parametric analogy EQ is a bargain at that price.
  10. True Dat!! 😂 If your speakers can't reproduce it, what bother sending it to the power amps in the first place. Everything including the kick drum gets it..
  11. User manual says "tuned to mimic the response of the ABM cabs". Obviously its not IR, so not sure how much it will sound like the real thing.
  12. Agree. Think Ashdown missed a trick on their latest Tube Preamp. Speaker sim DI outputs are common place now. Even if it is analogue, it’s a good feature that can’t be that expensive to implement.
  13. brilliant. So it’s pretty much last aside from speaker sim. 👍 out of interest why wouldn’t you run a compressor in there?
  14. @Tech21NYC Can i enquire where the effects loop insert is? I know it’s on the side of the pedal but where in the schematic is it? cheers
  15. Agree. It is only EQ at the end of the day but it’s a useful addition.
  16. For Free DAW software can I recommend UA Luna. https://www.uaudio.com/luna.html Looks and feels a bit like Logic. Doesn't come with any plugins ( Millions of free plugins can be had online ) and is currently Mac only.
  17. Yeah sure I'm all for that, but there's a ton of tonal variation on it so a built in pre set or someone else's tone as a starting point might be worth pursuing..
  18. Couldn't find a thread on these ( apologies if there is one ) https://ashdownmusic.com/collections/rootmaster-evo-iii These look like a great halfway point between budget Class D and Full scale ABM. Speaker sim DI is a nice touch. Anyone tried one?
  19. True, but the manual is useful for the character knob. I’ve not used it yet but I’m going to reset to the original 6 presets and start from there.
  20. Always wanted one. any suggestions for settings? ✌️
  21. A must for covering early AC⚡️DC. ✌️
  22. I think you need to treat it like an amp and effects setup. Imagine you have an amp and some effects pedals. firstly ignore the demo patches. pick an amp. That’s your amp for all of your patches! One of the big issues people have is massive sonic changes between patches and this is because every patch has a different amp and cab setup. Why? Once you have your amp, insert an effect and set it up to get a good sound. Repeat until you’re done.
  23. Is anyone aware that the Orange Bass Butler has an effects insert on the distortion channel?
  24. Thanks for that. Seems far more flexible than the later models.
  25. for example a shelved EQ where you can control the frequency with the pedal. So you start with just hearing the sub bass and slowly bring the rest of the frequency range in. Or controlling the drive / gain on a distortion patch
