Edit - but mine doesn’t have the fancy top!

The seeds of the idea to commission a similar beastie were definitely sown after I'd had a go on yours :)

@ead Aha a stealth P! Lovely. How do people find the D tuner works on medium scale?

Absolutely fine.  Tried it several times yesterday to make sure but not issues at all.  This particular bass is wearing relatively lightweight D'Addario nickels in 45/60/80/105 flavours as opposed to the headless Border Reiver, also 32" scale. that has the D'Addario EXL160BT set on.  Guages for the 160BTs are 50/67/90/120.

Looking at the bass is think black tapewounds might look pretty cool too!

Need to talk strings.

it’s wearing flats which I hate...

what are people using for rounds? I’m normally a 40-100 d’addario nickel wound kind of person.

D’Addario do a nice medium scale set which is probably worth trying first. I have them on medium scale Jazz which is in a similar vein to yours.

Lovely :)

I’ve got s set of LaBella stainless steel rounds on my 32” ACG Finn and they are bloody lovely. £26 fro Bass Direct.

My new 32” Zoot Funkmeister (almost finished!) will have DR Sunbeams :)

Strings wise I have settle on relatively lightweight D'Addario nickels in 45/60/80/105 (bought as singles to get the tension I like) on the headless Border Reiver.  Having tried D'Addario EXL160BTs (50/67/90/120) I found them to be a bit too heavy for me so the Finn P is now wearing black D'Addario ETB92M tapewounds (50/65/85/105).   These are a standard issue medium scale set and work rather well.

At some point I might well try a set of my normal use long scale D'Addario EXL170BTs as I reakon long scale strings on a 32" scale bass will work just fine.

@AndyTravis you are welcome to come round to try them out as we are pretty close to each other, or I'll bring them down to you if you promise to make me a cup of tea :)

Due to a neck injury I have been struggling for a while with the length weight and turning for a a full scale 5 string

I bought a 32 inch GRECO PJ bass  of here and there was a real improvement in my comfort and playing.

So after a bit of research i bought this off ebay
