Pearl Blue Loveliness. :)
I like that!

I'd stick a mirrored scratchplate on, then it'd be the love child of my 2 main basses (stingray and steve harris P)!

Oh noes!! more Stingray GAS!!

Had this a while, a 2002 2EQ Unlined Fretless Ray4H in Black/Black. A truly lovely MM with a lovely figured neck (I guess not typical by the 2000's unless its a classic) - much better than my long departed 1990 Ray in fact. Enjoy...

Just picked this up today and thought I would share it with you.

A long time coming, but it was worth the wait!

I give up. Picture won't upload.

Tips anyone? It's only 1.6MB....

Best thing is to use an image host such as Flickr, Photobucket, etc.

Just copy the IMG code from Flickr, Photobucket, etc and paste it into your post. Sorted! :)

Had this in a trade last week, I have a black gloss 3 ply pickguard on order (£17.95 from strings&things which is great value IMO and had to be from EBMM anyway as its the new version with some slight cosmetic changes none of the copy ones will fit) I think the white pickup will go well with the white middle ply on the new pickgurad and the chrome rather than black knobs match the bridge, I will update this post when its fitted in about 4 weeks time. Note the little hole in the pearloid one from the now stripped out LED switch.

It was a 2007 Lined Fretless with matching black headstock but as the original owner wanted to keep the LEDs that she had fitted to that neck its been swapped with a 2004 maple board neck instead, Everything else is original with my first yet one of EBMM's last ceramic pickup equiped basses. It was strung E-C with a massive high action but I have stripped it down, wire wooled the neck back to remove the dirty fretboard and sanded it back ending on 1200 grade paper, its come up like almost new 2 years old maybe, restrung it and done a major setup and its really nice now. Im quite liking the Ceramic too, It gives me a choice of sounds as my other is an Alnico. Rosewood boarded 5 Alnico version and a rosewood boarded ceramic pup 5 next on the list, then a Classic Ray 5..................

I have put the pic with its Blue Pearl brother as there is a lot of Blue Pearl love in this page right now :)

That's nice!!! I do like a bit of mojo... :)
And when I have nothing better to do, I often find myself flipping my '89 5-string to admire her backside!! :)

Finally, my Stingray has arrived, after what seems like years of waiting for a 'proper' bass.

To be honest i would have gone for any colour combo. Everytime i saw one in the flesh, it would look so good that i couldn't make my mind up. As it turned out, this one was on sale at a good price (the retailers mistake which they honoured), so coupled with a bit of 0% finance, i went for it.

It was listed as Carbon Pearl Blue, but i understand that they just call it Pearl Blue now.

I've used it at rehearsal a couple of times now, and it really plays like a dream. The neck is very fast (for me) and comfortable. Terrific low action too. The D and G strings don't sound as loud as the top 2, so i need to find an eq set-up to compensate for this i think. I've adjusted the pickup a little, so i'll see how it goes at its first gig tomorrow. I've got a new Hartke Kilo on the other end of the lead, so plenty of eq on standby.

I'm guessing that this won't be my last MusicMan. I fancy another 5 string, so maybe a Sterling. Might have to wait for that though.

More Pearl Blue awesomeness! :) As for the pickup height I would raise the DG end up as far as you feel is comfortable for your style ( I have raised my pre EB too far and I keep clipping the strings on the poles when Im giving it some) then lower the EA end down until its balanced, The secret is to lower the EA end rather than keep raising the DG as the pickup and pre amp have enough output to have it quite far away from the strings anyway.

I guess this youtube video classes as EBMM porn especially as it contains the Blue Pearl bass that is so popular right now?

I've been waiting on fitting some chrome Hipshot Ultralites to my pearl white Sterling 5 before I put some images up on this thread.

I fitted them this week and so long as you don't look at the rear of the headstock the bass is now perfect.

The dive I experienced was probably down to the lightness of the body as much as the heaviness of the neck (which has the same dimensions as the Stingray 5).

Anyhow I weighed it today.

8.2 lbs. Result!!
