Ha you havent heard us murder them, they dont end up as close as described, lol.
That's cool, especially if you don't murder them exactly the same way every time.

Not really a set list, more a setette of tunes with which we've been ruining everybody's evening at a local open mic recently...

So You Wanna Be A Rock 'n' Roll Star (The Byrds)
I Can Tell (John Hammond / The Pirates)
Dirty Water (The Standells / The Inmates, re-written for local references obviously!)
Muswell Hillbilly (The Kinks)
Teen Angst (Cracker)
plus a couple of originals

Assuming the next stage of our plan for global domination (i.e. a support slot with a friendly local band) falls into place in the new year, then we'll be dusting off a couple or three more originals, plus some or all of these...

Get It On (T Rex)
Ring Ring (Abba)
Begin The Begin (REM)
Wall of Death (REM arrangement of Richard Thompson)
From a Silver Phial (Gene Clark)
Willin' (Little Feat)
You Just Gotta Know My Mind (Karen Verros)
Season Of The Witch (Donovan)

Lined up to be worked on / given a good kicking next are Oh Darling (Beatles) and Dead End Street (The Kinks), followed by whatever gems the guitarist and keys/drummist can dredge up from their monumental record collections. :)

You are welcome to it. Its an emergency song for us. We've only done it a couple of times, I really like it but our singer hates singing it.

Not easy with any Slade song, they have done some great tunes slightly overshadowed by the obvious one! (I wired Jim Lea's boiler, he wasn't in though,Lol)
that's a claim to fame. His name should turn up more often on here, really top player and managed to write a hit or two.

I know, he was in all week then when I turned up for the last half a day after they knew I'd want to do it (guitarist from Slade they told me!) he had just gone when I arrived, came back just after I left! I was well behaved and didn't try and instruments out either, just looked with my eyes, lol

Now that's my kind of set!

I'd love to play in a band that covers that lot.

This is from the crazy part time trio I play in, not to be confused with the covers band and blues band which both gig pretty regularly.

Our basic set list in alphabetical order - other numbers do turn up randomly, on the spur of the moment, as the mood takes us.

Three piece with a great singest/guitarist/ukulele/banjo/slide/cigarbox etc.

Drummer uses a Gig Pig with some wierd old cymbals, whistles, bashing and shaking things.

Sad thing is that we only play together about twice a year, no pukkah rehearsals - just a count in (usually in xs of 150 mph) having shouted the title and key and off we jolly well go.

Total fun with no pressure. :D

We've been described as a traincrash between Ry Cooder and The Pogues.

That's 2 set lists with 'Big Boss Man' in - this is the Fester and Vomits track, no? About as obscure as it gets yet here it is twice! Great song - what came first - this or Billie Jean?

It's been the Jimmy Reed version of the same song at 162mph for us until now.

Thanks Paul S, we will modify accordingly and maybe add a little King Crimson to the arrangement.
