Bilbo
Here is my Wal Custom Fretless 4 (1985), now 30 years old, sharing the stage with John Etheridge a couple of weeks ago. The drummer on the gig (19th June) was a guy called Gary Wilcox who I last played with on a trio gig with Dylan Fowler in 1994. I used my Wal on that gig also!! TrevorR
Some JG (and Pro, Mk 1 and MK 2) porn here... New JG based blog today (and it's a goodie even if I do say so myself). Featuring some very special basses owned by John Gustafson and some Colin Edwin and Martin Elliott thrown in for free. With HUGE thanks to Martin for his help and inspiration! http://walbasshistory.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/jg-bass-special-pt-2-tale-of-two-basses.html

Eude
Still a bit flexible at the moment... They take so long to build you go through several changes of mind... It's definitely going to be ebony edge lines only board and a light coloured facing. I was originally thinking of a stain in either violet (like my old MK1) sonic blue or white, but I may just go for a lighter natural wood. All depends what Paul has in at the time I need to choose. Doesn't seem so far away now it's under 12 months to go...

I'm just finalising a spec for a fretless 6 from ACG to go with my recent 6, it'll be a nice light top compared to the Koa on the other. I wonder if mine will be done before yours... Are you going for the multicoils on the new one? we'll have to arrange a get together when everything has arrived, be great to compare the Wal and ACG fretted and fretless sixers.
Happy to share once deposit is down, I'll pop a build thread on here for sure. Not going for multicoils I'm afraid, as I like a tight string spacing on a 6er, as I'm a small bloke. The MC pickups, currently, are spaced for 18mm, so although they would still work, as the strings would all be in the overall magnetic field, they pickup per string thing, wouldn't really make sense any more. I'll get a bass with them one day though. I kinda fancy a 4 string with them though. I'll be 40 in a couple of years, so if I wish hard enough who knows. I keep hoping Alan will loan me one to have down here for folks to try in London, no luck yet though... Yup, would be great to have a meet and compare basses!
