ezbass Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Go West - Go West. I’d forgotten what a great album this is, with some top bass from Richard Drummie and Pino and fantastic guitar playing (both chops and tone) from the late, great Alan Murphy. 1 Quote
WalMan Posted November 24 Posted November 24 (edited) Barock Project - Live Voyager. It says “recorded at Trading Boundaries” which means we were there and I’m currently listening out for wifeys distinctive shriek … she’s on every band recording of our gigs she was at so no reason to think she wouldn’t be on this as well 🤣 That said it sounds like a bigger crowd/room than TB so maybe it’s an amalgamation of gigs and audiences Also Jason Lindberg and The Other Side. Their most recent album showed up on Apple Music and liking their brand of Swedish prog. Edited November 24 by WalMan Quote
lowdown Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I stumbled on an Album by Carol Kaye I've not heard before (featuring a whole load of top players). Well, I say stumbled, it came to my attention while watching a Scott Devine & Ian Martin Allison YouTube video discussing Carol Kaye and her career: Bass, Producer - Carol Kaye. Drums – Earl Palmer, John Guerin, Paul Humphrey. Double Bass - Ray Brown. Guitar – Joe Pass, Howard Roberts. Piano, Electric Piano – Joe Sample. Congas - Milt Holland. Saxophone/Flute – Tom Scott. Trombone – J.J. Johnson. Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Conte Condoli. 1 Quote
ezbass Posted Saturday at 12:30 Posted Saturday at 12:30 Casino by Al Di Meola. Taking me back to ‘70s, when I discovered ADiM thanks to the local lending library (remember those anyone?). Listening to it now, I still love what he does, but who is that on the bass, they sound familiar? None other than Anthony Jackson. Steve Gadd on drums too, no wonder it still sounds great. Quote
