Your "Wow" Bassline Of Choice

Pricetag - Jessie J seems to impress most people funnily enough.

In front of other musicians though I like thumbing through Respect - Aretha Franklin because I know I can get the groove just right and it's a real infectious and recognisable line. Easy, too!

Truckstop

Always had a soft spot for this, and a surprising performance by Randy jackson on bass.
But the drums by Rayford Griffin is the reason i got a kit,,,, i still cant play it ..... not even close!
so now i just listen and say ..... wow.

Enjoy.....

Usually just pick one out that I know they'll recognise, depending on who it is; though in general I tend to shy away from such malarky because I tell them it's a group not a solo instrument. But usually "Town Called malice", or it's cousin "Lust For Life", possibly show them a bass' day-job with "Can't Turn You Loose" then someone avariably asks "What's the extra knob for over there?" (sometimes they mean me, sometimes the extra knob on the bass) so I turn it and do "Purple Haze".
