8.
Dear gub, Please do not add anything to what you already described as a great bass part, just enjoy your part in the song. Jeff (and mum) knows best Yours, The Song.
Lol ok point taken very well spoken chaps and makes sense! Les .. yes I was thinking the harmonies will keep me busy too, some great stuff going on in it !
9. Would love to play do ya by elo as I am a big fan of the band and jeff and really love this track in particular! but i was just running through it in prep for next rehearsal , and hadn't quite realised how simple the bass line that's played by Kelly Groucutt is ! don't get me wrong I am a big fan of Kelly's playing and I know it just drives the track etc , just wondering if anyone else in cover bands has the same probs when suggesting songs to play ? Part of me wants to go for a track that requires a bit more on my part but at the same time I really would like to do this track ! I suppose I could put a few of my own little tweeks in, or would this take something away from it ?
10. I had one which I sold , thing I kept finding was that I switched it off mid gig when things were getting a bit lively and I was digging in a bit , may have got round this by sticking some tape over the switches though ! Also I was spending lots of time messing with the switches in between songs , think I am just a simple jazz man at heart ! Loved the look and sound though and so comfortable to play , do miss it !
11. Not will have a couple of pints before playing and another a couple of bottles of something while playing , maybe one or two when finished , no more though !
12. Hello and welcome
13. There are indeed some major bargains to be had ATM ! Saw a fender Mia jazz the other day for under £500 ! Was very tempted but the other half would bury it in the garden on top of me for sure !
14. Or is it more to do with not really hearing yourself clearly on stage ? Bass travels a long way and it could be everyone out front can hear you fine , think I suffer with this problem sometimes !
15. I tend to just add some brightness for some songs I feel need it by twiddling my tone knob and take a bit off for more trad songs that , that's it really !
16. Got a real soft spot for theses too, may have to add one to the collection at some stage, what are the necks like to play ?
17. I had never really thought of the above ,but totally makes sense!
18. Is there an Adam clayton bass ? Will have to google it !

21.
Really? I didn't know that!! There's still loads of them around here. What type of groups are replacing them?
Pretty boys and girls all singing and not playing any instruments maybe ? Naw bollocks to that !
