  1. My board came with one but I have a hard case for it, so it’s as new. CORRECTION: there's a tiny mark on the side. Would probably wipe off. £20 delivered FIRM
  2. Bought this recently from Japan, as it's very lightweight (a hair under 3Kgs) and medium scale. You don't see these very often over here. Late 90's and I think some of the first Yammies made outside of Japan. This one is made in Taiwan. Quality is good, as you'd expect from Yamaha. Lovely natural body (alder or basswood) and satin neck. Headstock has a nice dark wood veneer. A bit of buckle rash on the back, finger marks above pickups and a few marks Pickups I think are the original ceramic and absolutely thunderous. Controls are volume, blend and tone. All passive electronics. Standard BBoT bridge and 38mm nut width. Nice and comfortable to play. Neck feels like it would be heavy but once it's on the strap, it stays put and doesn't neck dive. Got stung on delivery and import duty, so realistically not going to get my money back on it. Price is £275 or near offer. I live in East Herts and work in West Herts during the week and gig in Essex at the weekend. Drop off or meet up is possible for free if it's on my way or can drive out of my way for fuel cost. Can also post it at cost and at your own risk, though will be fully insured. Don't expect that to be much less than £30. Edit: forgot to mention that I’d be up for trading for other basses, as long as they’re extremely light weight, below 3.2kg. Nut width at least 40mm. Also, fairly shallow front to back. Short and medium scales are preferred but let me see what you got.
  3. Full disclosure, this was a pure eBay impulse buy between sets at one of my gigs. I hit upon it in the last few moments of the auction and as it was going for a crazy low price I thought 'why not'? Probably because the auction was ending at 10:30 pm on a saturday night. I'm going to pass that crazy low price onto a lucky basschatter. It's a lovely vintage old thing, looks to be made in Germany with the nice pickup switches on the pickguard, vol/vol and tone/tone knobs. Why am I selling it so quickly? The honest truth is I really don't get on with the narrow string spacing at the bridge it feels completely alien to me. Strangely, it doesn't feel short scale, probably because the bride is quite far into the body. It probably takes medium scale strings. Sounds exactly like you think it does: thumpy, deep and rich. Helped buy the fact it has the oldest strings I've ever seen in my life. They're completely unmatched. Different (new) strings could well make it sound completely different and I would change them if keeping it. Original 'snake skin' vinyl wrap finish on the body with slight discoloration here and there. Black painted neck with lovely Hofner badge on the headstock and mother of pearl looking 'bar' inlays. Tuners not as spritely as they used to be (who is?) but do their job. They seem to want to remind you of their age while they're doing it. Pickups are fine as stated but the pots are old and crackly. Don't forget this bass is well over half a century old! Pickup is preferred, so you can try it out and know exactly what you're getting. Doesn't feel particularly fragile but just don't trust couriers with something of this vintage. However, I live in East Herts and work in West Herts during the week and gig in Essex at the weekend. Drop off or meet up is possible for free if it's on my way or can drive out of my way for fuel cost. Price is firm. Would look at medium/short scale basses as a trade but only if they're really light and don't neck dive.
  4. How on earth is this still here? It should sell for that price as a 'wall hanger' alone.
  5. This time I bought a pedal from him, a Swollen pickle clone. Superb it is too. Pleasure to do business with you .... again!
  6. Made a purchase from Stew recently. Was very helpful sorting out a small issue. It's circumstances like these when you find out how trustworthy someone is and I'd have no hesitation dealing with him again.
  7. For those of us not running iOS, could attach the images as JPEG instead of HEIC please?
  8. For me, the compact was BF at their utilitarian best.
  9. These are absolutely superb power amps for bass. Completely stable bridged to 4 ohm, giving 1200w. Dip switches on the back let you configure a HPF too.

  12. 'Settle' is not a word I'm comfortable with, as I now have a GK MB 800 But while I had the EA (which was a terrific amp in many ways😞
  13. I asked pretty much the same question here: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/335536-adding-tube-warmth-to-solid-state-amp/ You might find some useful options.
  14. Bought my EBS Neoline 2x12. Paid quickly and was great to deal with. Recommended.
  15. Bought a Digitech Bass Synth Wah from Colin. Well packaged and sent quickly. Lots of fun, can't wait to annoy band-mates with it.
  16. I would imagine with that EQ, it would make a decent bass amp too!
  17. Had the 3000W DSP version of this and the power on tap was unbelievable.
  18. As an update to this, I've put on some GHS Pressurewounds. Seem to fit the bill, as they are slightly higher tension, being a bit thicker. Cuts down on 'clank' without the action being really high. There were a bit too 'zingy' to begin with, along with quite a bit of finger noise, which is especially annoying in IEMs. This is the thing other thing about rounds that was turning me off but it calmed down pretty quickly and now they seem to be giving me the tone of rounds without the above mentioned tonal annoyances and floppyness on a down-tuned bass.
  19. Looks like the original EV driver... worth getting re-coned. I had one of these and WOW, what a great cab.
  20. I was told these came out of a Fender Japan Jazz Pickups '75 re-issue. Not especially high output but really sweet tone. Price includes delivery. Cables are around 18.5 cm, give or take a cm. Bridge 7.4k Neck 6.7k
  21. Bought recently off of Intoutof of this parish, with the intention of selling all my other cabs. However, none of my other cabs are selling, including the combo I spent a lot of time and money upgrading. Had some big bills come in and now my pedalboard power supply has gone t*ts-up and need to replace it with something decent. No other reason I'd sell this incredible cab, it's truly a one-cab solution that can handle any gig I've done with it as it not only handles a lot of power at 4Ohms, it's very sensitive at 103 dB. Lightweight at just over 21Kg. Here is the original ad, so I hope Intoutof doesn't mind me re-using his pics. It's in exactly the same condition. This owes me about £430, so I'd like that for it. Would prefer pickup from East Herts but could meet anywhere from West Herts (around M25 J22) on Weekdays to East Essex, at weekends. Would only trade for a very high current (1Amp + ), 8+ output pedalboard power supply. Strymon Zuma, Voodoo labs, CIOKS, etc. Here's a curtesy image, more in link above
