  1. Weighed without head. My digital bathroom scales are sometimes a bit inaccurate but it's the best I can do, having no alternative. Feels about right too. Standard PH212 is 78lbs / 35.3 Kg so about ties in with that, maybe a even a bit lighter.
  2. I had the V3 rumble 500, with the 2x10 extension and found I needed the master about half-way up. I'm sure it wouldn't have done any harm to turn it up higher but felt a bit nervous doing that, though probably being over-cautions. Had the gain right up to get the tone (drive) I liked but added a compression that I didn't like. The combo on its own I didn't find was enough for me. YMMV. It's one of the reasons I'm clinging to my iAmp 800 for dear life, seemingly endless clean headroom. Shhhhh! I'm on the look out for one too, don't tell everyone!
  3. Now updated with measurements and weight. Bit heavier than I thought, but still very portable.
  4. Will have a measure tonight. It's 600w at 4Ohm. I will weigh it but it will not be wildly different from the 25-27Kg stated.
  5. Bought a jazz control plate from me. Smooth as you like.
  6. Bought from this 'ere forum recently. Then realised I need the more common 4 hole version. D'oh! Chrome, with what looks like copper shielding underneath. £6 gets it to your door.
  7. Hey you! Have a P or J neck lying around and always fancied a Stingray? I got you dawg! Had this P body made for me by guitarbuild.co.uk. Total cost was around £240 for an unfinished body (with custom options) and control plates. MM pickup is in the 'stingray sweet spot', which I spent a good deal of time researching to get right. To clarify, there are 336.35mm from the centre of the 12th fret to the centre of the pickup (13 1/4 inches). Pickup not included in price but also for sale. I routed a cutaway for upper fret access and came out quite well, if I do say so myself. Has several coats of gunstock oil and has a few dings but that's part of the charm of an oiled body AFAIC. There's a few deep but very marks around the control holes, when I got a bit enthusiastic with some tool or other. Would be pretty easy to sand down and re-finish. The diameter of the control holes are 10mm . Was quite a long lead-time to have it made and I can't say it was a pleasant purchase experience but the end product was worth it. here are the details of the order. £110 - Delivery will be extra and would probably be around £10. Can be collected from East Herts or West Herts or we can meet up somewhere in between. Most weekends I'm in Essex so can meet up there also. Trades: Would trade (hopefully with some cash my way) for a precision body or a high pass filter (HPF). Material: Alder Pieces: 2 Pieces Material Shade: Alder Neck Pocket: Rounded heel 63.5mm wide x 16mm deep (most popular) 4 holes Neck Pickup: None Bridge Pickup: None Bridge: Top loader bridge position holes & vintage earth Countours: Front & Rear Contour Battery Rout: Double Battery Knobs: 4 Knobs Control: Large Rear Control V1 Edge Rout: 6mm Most Popular Jack: 22mm Side Jack
  8. Bought a pedal off of Ratman. Great price and excellent service. 👍 👍
  9. After much consideration, I've decided to put this amazing combo cab up for sale. To be clear, amp is NOT included. I traded to get this with Al Krow of this very parish. It has superb tonal character and is in itself very portable with tilt-back castors, great top handle and side sprung handles. One of the best features of this cab is that the amp-space is actually a 2U rack mount, so you can fit any standard rack-mount head in there. The speakers are Neo ones and look to be Eminence Deltalites 12". It was un-gigged and in pristine condition when I got it and largely the same, although I've gigged a fair bit since then. There are the odd marks here and there but nothing too serious. Will take detailed pics when I can. Comes with original (and very well fitting) padded cover. Collection or meet up anywhere from West Hertfordshire to Essex, depending on what day of the week it is. EDIT 24/04/2019: Now prepared to have it couriered for £50 fully insured. Can probably remove the handle so it doesn't stick out so prominently and can package it more securely. EDIT 29/04/2019: Dimensions in CM are D 47, W 56, H 76. Weight is about 34Kg. Specs are 600W at 4Ohms. Edit 08/05/2019: Price dropped to £480 collected. Will not be going any lower, that's a steal for this. Trades: Would consider most things, as long as it's similar value as this or less (cash my way)

  11. Truly a job well done! We need some sound clips now, don't we?
  12. Nice. Any pics of the priming / spraying process?
  13. Aw maaaan! Just when I'm happy with my Mesa 2x12, this comes up for sale again but for a crazy low price. Please someone buy this before I do something stupid....
  14. Maybe but fuses to go from time-to-time. Our band now brings a whole bunch of spares. Replace it and it carry spares. If it goes again fairly soon, I'd say you have a problem. If it goes when you're in the same place as before, could be the electrics of the place that's contributing.
  15. It's good stuff. I refinished the wooden handle of a 50's teapot with it. Other half was pleased, so "that practice on the bass wasn't wasted". Her words.
  16. Well, you're brave! I like to think I would have practiced on a block of wood first. But then again, when I wanted to do a 'cutaway' for upper fret access on my FengRay, I just went right ahead and did it without the practice. I actually came out pretty well, so I'll just shut up now.
  17. No slurry, no. Didn't trust myself to get it right, so coat then buff, repeat 4 times till the grain was filled (though not completely on edge of fretboard), then knocked it right back almost to wood, then the lightest coat I could. The stuff has soaked into the wood, so the protection is there. I gave it another light rub and coat about a year later and will probably do that every year. Don't know if it's recommended but hey-ho, seems like a good idea to me.
  18. As promised, my amateur efforts at finishing my neck.
  19. Did this early hours of NYE 2018 after I got home from a gig. Started on the whisky and seemed like a good idea I should mention I've never done anything like this before, so a complete amateur. Bought new from Warmoth, it's a roasted maple neck so technically doesn't need a finish. Super satin smooth but wasn't getting on with the bare wood finish, so wanted to go for a gunstock oil finish. The pictures are vaguely in chronological order. There's an initial rub-down (with coarse steel wool) to get a few months of playing grime off and a light rub down with super fine (0000 grade) SW between coats. At the beginning: Coarse SW: So some wood is off Masking up the fretboard, so don't get the finish on the fretboard. Making sure the tape is properly stuck down at the edges, so it doesn't seep in. Thin tape, so just 2 columns wont cover it at it's widest point. Microfibre cloth, cut into pieces, as will be useless when the finish dries on it: Decanting some into a small cup to use a bit at a time without polluting the pot: First coat goes on: First coat finished: A little browse of the 'library' while I wait for that coat to dry Dried after 20 mins or so. Fresh wood soaked it right in. Has really brought out that 'quilting' in the back of the neck! Gave it another very light coat before going to bed. Next morning after light rub-down. Then put everything away. A couple of evenings later, gave it got another couple of coats with light coat between. Finish actually got too think so knocked it almost right back to wood. At this point, pretty much all the grain has been filled. And the feel is almost indescribable. Super smooth and satin but nowhere near glossy or sticky. I coated over and rubbed down the decal too, in case you're wondering.
  20. I've thought about doing this in the past and thought a smaller drill bit (with smaller radius) would be good for the 'corners' of the pickups routes. However, I guess you could now use a file to get up in the corners.
  21. That's all the encouragement I need . Will start another thread, rather than introducing noise into yours but will have to wait till I have time tomorrow.
