Here's my home-made clone of a pedaltrain junior, or 'ghetto train' as one of my guitarists calls it.
All pretty self explanatory except for the rolls in-ear system.
Mis-titled. Could be a good buy for someone if you put in a cheeky offer.

then perhaps
Yes, the problem is that I can't mask against heat and the chemical stripper doesn't want to touch the top layer. I may risk lifting the entire remaining piece in one and trimming it off the headstock and glueing it back on afterwards,
Then perhaps try sanding (filing first?) the back of the headstock, putting masking tape over the serial number, so it doesn't get scratched?

Question time - I'm trying to save the Made in Japan and serial number on the headstock. Any ideas how I can get the paint stripped neatly around it?
Hmmm, never had to do anything like that but I would try sanding (or any other method) around it carefully, then using a stanley knife (with a steel rule) to neaten the edges. It will hopefully look like an applied sticker.
Either that or make a new one?

In the end impatience won the day - didn't want to lose another 72 hours obtaining and then preparing the hot hide glue, and PVA is way cheaper.
Just found some sealed syringes and needles from a 1994 holiday to India so have injected some watered down PVA, now waiting for it to dry before the next sanding.

You might find using a paintbrush more effective. Really did the trick when fixing a cab with watered down PVA glue. Can really poke it into the cracks and avoid air bubbles.

Pics this afternoon - meanwhile I have completely and utterly lucked out on the electronics. Popped in too see my mate in the local music shop and told him about the project and his first reaction was "are the electronics OK?" when I said no he went to his drawer of "stuff that will come in handy one day" to produce a preamp from, yes, and Ibanez SR800, that had been there for some 10+ years!!

Result!
If you decide on a blend pot after all, try Googling Seymour duncan blend pot. You'll get lot's of diagrams of how to do it yourself. They're less than a fiver.
Again, Koigon might be able to help you with a drop-in solution.
Hell, if you send him the preamp, he might do the whole thing for you. TBH, I'm done pissing about with a soldering iron and trying to figure out wiring diagrams.
PS. think there was a stinger circuit for sale in the 'other music related items'
Considered a toggle switch instead? Soloing pickups is very useful. That's what I've got in my P Lyte and works very well. With 2 volumes, it's very versatile. You might have to drill another hole for it if you want 2 volumes, though.
Got Koigon to make one up for me. If you tell him what you want it for, I'm sure he can do it so you can drop it straight in.
was actually watching that bass to see how much it would go for, as I'm after a lightweight bass. Knew it would be too a big a project for me!
Subbing to this thread, love to see how it turns out.
Now sold!
About 6 months old and been on my pedalboard and well protected, so virtually as new. Just using it as an overdrive ATM, which is a bit of a waste and need to fund some other purchases.
Has original box and manuals, etc.
Will try and get some photos up later or tomorrow but just so we know what we're talking about here, It's this one. Actually bought it from Thomann as well.
I my experience; yes.
It's why I installed a toggle switch in my Precision Lyte. Even with the J turned right down and the P right up, you can hear the difference in tone when switching from the P pup soloed, to the middle position.
Yah, that look nice! I like the pup position, sitting somewhere between a J and P but not quite as far back as a MM, kind of what Fender are now doing with their Cabronita.
Any more details on it, such as weight, nut width, etc?
How does it play sound? I suppose with the pup position, it would kinda sound like a fender cabronita? Got idea of the weight, how it plays?
Shame you're not willing to post, might be worth a punt for someone after something quirky and unique!
