  1. Here's my small collection on white/cream basses. Looks good if you ask me! 😬
  2. I saw a Jackson Minion in a shop the other day and it reminded me how much fun those small basses are to play. My question is....could you cut off the headstock and make them headless? Are there 4 string string clamps that would fit the smaller necks? Very much just a pipe dream just now but could be a fun project! Any input is always welcomed
  3. Ideal for a self build, if that includes rebuilding the headstock....
  4. I see A LOT of praise for the Keeley compressors, now they have combined it with their Overdrive. I imagine this will sell very well https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2018/07/18/keeley-electronics-introduces-the-aria-compressor-and-overdrive-pedal/
  5. So I contacted the website when I saw the post about having info. Seems its good news! Obviously we aren't all as fortunate to have such wide exposure available to us but great to hear he'll get his bass back! If it was your tip off, great work @2x18!
  6. Or try a message on here too: @devinebass is his username!
  7. They look like a mix between an ACG Recurve and an MTD, not a bad look to be going for!
  8. OH MAN! What a bass. Unfortunately it won't be mine but I'm sure it plays as good as it looks!
  9. Through the wonders of the Instagram algorithm this beautiful bass popped up. Appears to be a Chinese luthier but the translated website isn't too helpful. Anyone know much about them? Rough prices? Ta
  10. I had one of those exact HB Stingray 5s. Was massively impressed for the price and think I would have been ok with it at full price to be honest. Only sold it to fund a bass I had been waiting ages for. My plan was to bling it up with gold hardware Maybe another time...
  11. Was at the Blues Kitchen in Brixton last night and there was a house band playing R&B/Soul. All good. Apart from they didn't have a bass player 😅

    Made for slightly odd listening.

I think it was Sister Cookie? Very good but very much lacked a bass player!

It gets worse, saw Steve Winwood yesterday. He didn't have a bass player either!! I know it's rare to spot us in the wild but I didn't think we were that endangered!

      Death to all Hammond players!

Steve Winwood rarely uses a bass player. He plays bass pedals on his Hammond. And very well too, I may add. He is also a very handy bass player himself.

  12. Still no interest in this super-funky bass?!
  13. Cazpar is coming to the configurator on Monday! I've stayed strong so far but I fear for the day the Jazzus configurator comes out!
  14. PRICE REDUCTION!!! New price still includes delivery!
  15. Really love the clean look of this and the price isn't eye-watering. But as already been posted, Shuker will do you one to your exact specs for probably not too different a price.
  16. OK, so the quality won't be the same as Gruv Gear but surely it will do the same job? Wonder how you could embroider them? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Electric-Guitar-String-Mute-Professional-String-Dampener-Muting-Accessories/263371825308?hash=item3d522f209c:m:mLCRvtAbwjCDjSJdx8LqMrA

  18. Oh that sounds intriguing! I am up in sunny Scotland but didn't know a process like that existed. The fretboard is ok but like I said, the other fretless basses I have played just feel nicer to fret on and slide.
  19. Sorry, I didn't make it clear the bass I have is already fretless but the fretboard isn't as nice as other fretless basses I have seen/tried.
  20. Seeing a couple of threads flying around about Fretlesses made me want to dig mine out and it reminded me of something I've always wanted to do. It's a Wolf Jazz Bass so it's not a particularly expensive bass but it is very unique looking (image is not mine but don't have it to hand right now) and the fretboard is one of the things I think is important on a fretless. I also really like the neck profile and feel so I don't want to mess with that. Question is: How hard/expensive is it to get a new lined board put on it? I can see an ebony board costs around £40 or less Obviously it's very easy to get a replacement neck but wondering if the new fingerboard will cost less than a nice new neck. Any help is always welcomed Ta
  21. Just my initial input - love the idea, but I don't think I like it at the top of the For Sale section, maybe put it above the "Other Musically Related" tab?
  22. Very much part of the "weird" side of bass making https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-long-scale-fretless-electric-bass-pine-neck-through-cherry-unique-rustic/271991099938?hash=item3f53eed222:g:HB0AAOSwgQ9V04ig
  23. SUNDAY SAMURAI BUMP Feel free to make me an offer!
  24. Just saw this and thought it was a handy little tool to keep in your gig bag. For all of €8 it's probably worth a punt. https://shop.warwick.de/en/Accessories/Care+Products/Guitar+and+Basses/RockCare+StringJet+64+-+String+Cleaner+for+6-String+Guitar+and+4-String+Bass I imagine since it's from Warwick there will be bigger ones of 5/6 string basses in the future.
  25. Morning all, This is something I've been pondering from a while. I have a very nice L2000 from the 80's (see photo) , I love the tone, the look and the neck profile BUT I really don't like the gloss finish on the neck. I've found I prefer satin finishes. Would taking steel wool to the neck to remove some of the finish affect the value of the bass? I know this is kind of a subjective question but any opinions welcomed Ta!
