    .. if you want to get inside you need to undo the 4 hex bolts and take off the control knob to reveal a nut and washer, and take that off also. Then the two nuts and washers off the foot switches, and finally the 4 nuts (well 3 in your case) off the back. The top should then come straight off with no problem. I’ve got a couple of these units and have taken one apart at some point (no idea what for though ha ha).

    …. multifx are probably more practical, but I really do prefer separate analogue pedals! I’ve got a reasonable collection to now have a ‘multi fx’ situation where I choose between different types of compressor, drive, eq, modulation etc. Only thing is each time I want to change something it takes a little bit longer than on a multifx ha ha 😆

    …. yeah the blue LEDs that light up and shine from behind the Genz Benz oval logo on the front panel are supposed to turn on when the amp is, basically they are a back light to the clear logo. The issue is they come on when they want, or only/faintly partially most of the time. Aged Horse on here (and TB) designed the amps and has said before that they are not part of any audio circuit so they won’t affect the sound. As far as I know it was a faulty batch of LEDs that were used (but don’t quote 🤣!). They are only cosmetic as far as I’m aware. The LEDs/lights for the other functions (mute, hi gain etc) all work as they should. You can get the backlight issue repaired by replacing the LEDs, but as said before it’s never concerned me really. If it doesn’t sell I may look into repairing it, but would rather sell at the moment anyhow. Hope that helps.

    Hey all, I have just bought a MXR Deep Phase pedal from Paul, good price, packaging and communication. The pedal is as new and is just what I'm after so very pleased. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. Thanks. Peace.

    .. much lower temps involved with soldering. Probably more similar to brazing than welding. I’ll do some internet research at some point, cheers 👍🏼

    … how does the lead free/vs lead solder interact with the components then? At the school I work at we only use lead free (for obvious reasons).

    ... on another note, has anybody had any experience of replacing SMT stuff? I've heard it's pretty hard, not that I need to though, just wondering how it's done.
