I reckon if you upgraded a Highway One to the same spec it would cost you more than an American Standard. Up to you if you think the differences are worth paying for but aesthetic? I don't think so. Both are still too expensive (at Sterling rates)

New bridge, new tuners, new nut, new case as far as I can make out.

Hmm, that's really bad news for you. Not much help now, but looking at the id, it shows the user has only two posts, both which are items to sell. It's maybe far too easy to assume that ALL Basschat members are above the sorts of behaviour regularly seen on ebay, though we do have a feedback system of sorts so that you can mimimise the risk from buying on here. In any case, I hope you can get it back in to some sort of useable condition.

I've used all sorts in the past before. Often grey pipe lagging as I've always some lying around!

Make sure you have set up the BadAss correctly before doing anything else, then play around with the pick up height. You need to have the string height well set. With my Precision (also with S1), with a BadAss III, with 45-105 strings, my settings are relief @ 7th fret 0.25mm String height @ 17th fret G 1.75mm D 2.00mm A 2.00mm E 2.50mm Pick up height from bottom of string Neck pup E to polepiece 5.0mm Neck pup D to polepiece 4.5mm Bridge pup A to polepiece 4.5mm Bridge pup G to polepiece 3.5mm These settings give me a perfect action and balanced output. Hope that helps.

Actually, there IS something that he doesn't mention - Pic one shows a toggle switch and pic 4 shows different knobs that could indicate fitting of a preamp (pics are too small to make out). Just surprised it doesn't feature in the text....

First one looks absolutely fine to me. Good example of Japanese reissue. Last one 'looks' fine again, for a Mexican, but I agree with Tauzero in that a few more pics would help the sale.

Later model US bodies have additional routing other than for the pickups and control plate that would not make leaving the scratchplate off a viable option

Just another thought - if you have a Korg AX3000B (I think you might have) then stick to the choruses on there. Miles better than a Boss.

I would not recommend the CEB-3. As a chorus it's OK, but it adds so much unwanted noise and degrades the signal so much that I found it unusable. I guess it depends on how fussy you want to be I guess. If you are going to use one, stick it in a loop so that you can bypass it.

I write the starting note or chord for each song on my set list. Get the beginning right and the rest follows.
