1. So painfully generic. Doesn't float my boat at all.
2. Warwick Streamer Stage 2. Played one years later and really didn't like it.
3. Insane pricing.
4. Bump.
5. 2009 model with the revised profile neck, So super slim (almost Ibanez SR like). In almost mint condition barring a couple of haze marks on the finish. Complete with soft case and Warwick user manual. AAA Flamed maple body with Ovangkol neck. Wenge fingerboard. Bell brass frets. JAN3. MEC pickups and 2-Band preamp. Very lightweight at around 8.5lbs An utterly phenomenal bass that I just don't use anymore due to the acqusition of a stonking Musicman SUB that suits my disco/funk covers that little bit more. No point in having this gorgeous instrument sat around doing nothing. Not interested in trades unless it's a mint and lightweight Fender Marcus Miller. Would MUCH rather collection or a halfway meet and would be happy to accept a little bit less to pay for your fuel. I am based in Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire which isn't far off the m40 so it isn't a tough trip by any means. Cheers for looking! Edit -No idea why the pictures have orientated the wrong way, will post up higher res shots as soon as poss.
6. I bought a bh550 on Doods advice and couldn't be happier. Clean, clear and crisp tone almost to the point of being dry (but that's exactly what I want sound wise). Tonnes of headroom and power on tap with excellent build quality and finish. Useful little features like a mute switch and the toneprint system only sweeten the deal. Highly recommended.
7. Argh! I'd love to buy this back. Let me see what I can do.
8. You'd bloody hate D'Addario Flexsteels then!
9.
That particular SUB is possessed! There's something special going on with that bass........hope youre enjoying it :-)
Absolutely Jon! It's a ridiculously good bass that I bought from you with the idea of having it as a good quality backup to my Warwick Streamer LX. It's turned out to be easily the equal of it and in some ways I prefer the SUB. So much of that Stingray vibe but ballsier! Absolutely bloody steal at the prices they go for!
10.
Yeah, I wish they sounded that nice when I played them.
I had this problem for ages too, Lozz. I bought (funnily enough seeing as he started the thread) Mudpup's USA SUB. It's a 2 band and sounds quite different to my old 3 band. In conjunction with more subtle EQ'ing (as opposed to the common method of maxing everything) I'm now getting that sound myself!
11. My Musicman SUB I recently acquired was doing this too, just restrung it with plenty of winds round the post and it's been fine since.
12. I have the bass overdrive pedal, it's more distortion than overdrive though. It's held up perfectly to 8 years of use and gigging and sounds great. No complaints here.

Punchiest 2x12

Thanks again guys, some really helpful stuff as always . I had a browse on the Schroeder website and really like the look of the 3x10 (don't see too many of them). Any experiences with this cab and comparisons to the 2x12?
14. Bump
15. They're my favourite band ever, but, in light of the output 'By The Way' onwards, I wasn't expecting much (Detest Stadium Arcadium and I'm With You) but this actually pleasantly surprised me. I have high hopes for the new album now that Josh is established and out of his shell, he's a brilliant musician.
16. I love the track (Burn the witch) and same as you really, a late bloomer when it comes to Radiohead. I'll be burned at stake for this (Pun intended) but I only like their output from ' Hail to the Thief ' onwards.

Fantastic! Thank you!

Punchiest 2x12

Some great suggestions chaps, thank you. I like the sound of the Schroeders but can't seem to find anywhere that sells them in the UK?
19. My role in my 3 piece band is based all around punch and poking through the mix but at the moment I feel my sound is lacking in that department. My Markbass is a great cab and does have some thump but not quite the extremes I'm chasing. I'm interested in peoples experience with cabs that have a strong 'Pop'. Other aspects of tone are not so important and I really want to stay in 2x12 territory for weight and portability reasons. Cheers in advance
20. I'm a big Musicman fan but, to me, these are painfully dull. Imo etc etc.
21.
Great. Panic over. I assume you don't get the same sort of noise through your cab when plugged into it? Thanks ☺
I can't recall having noticed it through my cab, only the headphone socket. Enjoy, it's a brilliant little amp!
22. Yep, mine has done this from new. You can hear something physically click inside too. Just the digital power module switching on I think? I could of course be hideously wrong
23. I tried a set once on my old Yamaha TRB4. I was distinctly underwhelmed! Died fast too. :\
24. I personally couldn't care less if it has a signature on the headstock, being a signature model wouldn't put me off buying a bass. A good bass is a good bass and 99% of the audience wouldn't have a clue anyway!
