1. There is a lot of discussion on here about Fender, Musicman / Stingray and RIC basses but less it seems about Warwicks. So what is considered to be the state of the art / best ever Warwick bass? I used to own an MIG Corvette Std that I sort of regret selling now (but needed to at the time), and I could seriously be tempted to get back into the saddle in the future. Probably not a candidate for the 'Ultimate Warwick' tag though. I have had a play of a number in Mr bagsieblues' collection too and they were all lovely in their own way. Calling on all you Warwick experts; what would you buy (if you could)?
2.
I suspect that Sean's tongue was well and truly stuffed deep into his cheek for his comment.
OK fair enough, toys back in pram now. Didn't read that way though imho.
3. Oh, sorry, pardon me for daring to express an opinion. However as I'm the punter not the marketing department I demand the right not to be confused. Many books have been written about marketing, most of them cheque books.
4. Yeah, nice. Where did you get all the asbestos from ?
5. They don't make it easy for the average Joe, do they
6. Had one in an MIM P, very good per posts above. Rechargeable battery an added bonus.
7. Cheers NJE, really helpful.
8. I'm sure that I have seen a thread on here that explains the pecking order of Stingrays, Sterlings, SUBs etc but I can't seem to find it. Could anybody please point me in the right direction? Cheers
9. No interest for a top blues gig?
10. Nice. Pardon my ignorance but what bass is that and what do the controls all do?
11. I have a ticket for this gig that I can no longer use. If you would like it please PM me. It will cost you nothing except maybe a donation to BC
12. The J p/up seems to be a recurring issue on these basses. One BCer I am aware of got in touch with OW and they swapped out the original fit for a new OW item that was a lot better FOC.

Settled on a P/J combo in the end.

Yes I drifting towards that atm. Will have a further conflab with Alan before I decide I think.

Cheers Eude that was most helpful. Are the SBs relatively quiet for single coils do you know?
18. GAK have got the 300 series in and looks like the 500 series on order. Looks to me they are going to be excellent value basses.
19. Jon Letts?
20. Right angled one on my cable. In my experience it seems very sensitive to which socket on which bass it's plugged in to. In some cases it's pretty good, and others not great tbh.
21. +1 for the ebony board. Both my f/less basses have ebony boards and to my ears and fingers it feels and sounds so much better that the rosewood and maple equipped fretless basses I have owned.

A progress pic. with the maple neck that is looking rather pleasant. Starting to see what the bass will look like and I'm really happy with the wood combinations. I am talking to Alan about changing the p/up spec to a two p/up setup. Either P/J or P/H; any body have any views on this as in all honesty I've never played a P/H bass. It seems to me that in P/H mode the EQ02 would offer some considerable variety with either p/up soloed as well as blended.
23.
So what's the script with active bass, 4 controls, vol, pan, bass, treble?
A lot of pre-amps have a buffered blend/pan control so don't suffer to the same degree - as in the signal from each p/up is treated separately then summed, rather than summed straight from the pickups iirc.
