1. Struggling to upload pics again. If you'd like to see the beasties please PM me with an e-mail address.
2. I have the original set p/ups from my Antoria jazz bass that came with the instrument when I bought it; the owner having swapped them out for some Fender Japan items. I like the bass as it is so would like to move the original set on. They both measure a bit north of 7k ohms according to my multimeter on the static resistance test. I'll put some pics up later on. Thanks for looking.

4. I like Alan's basses at ACG as well as Jon Letts work. Both beautifully crafted rather than manufactured and cheaper than most of the MIA bulk output.
5. PMT has a reasonable amount of stuff in it. There's alao Jonny Roadhouse but I've never been there. For basses the Manchester Bass Longe is interesting (pre-owned stuff). Give Drew a ring and arrange a visit but I'd leave your wallet in the car!
6. Fender 9050CLs are good too (imho obviously) and around £20.
7. As the question is 'regularly use...' I voted NO as I used very occasional distortion and even less occasional chorus.

My First ACG

I'm sure you will love it. The wait between knowing it's ready and getting the bass is torture.
9.
You mean some basses have frets? Like a guitar? Interesting concept....
It will never catch on.
10. Nice surprise to hear the new single on the radio this morning, plus forthcoming album. Definitely excited.

ACG build

Cheers boys, lovely to play too.
12. Mondeo estate ticks all the boxes for me.
13. My new ACG is a quantum leap better than anything I have played to date. I am recalibrating my expectations for all future basses.

CURVED AIR
Thank you. You can tell Sonja that she made me most happy as a teenager. I'm 58 now I have and love 'Air Cut' and I'll check out your gigs. Peter
.....sigh.... I remember going to see Curved Air in mid 70s (Tonbridge Wells possibly). I recall being a little distracted at times...
15. Just signed up, and in a moment of Malt fueled overconfidence have signed up to play with the band too.

Here she is, absolutely gorgeous and a very happy bunny here.
18. When the sainted Mrs ead eventually finds it I shall use that in my defence

20.
I know a lot of rudimentary bassists and guitarists who spend stupid money on boutique instruments and amps (in the hope that spending money will make them sound better), when they'd be better off spending the money on a few lessons.
Partly guilty although my made for me bass will cost less than the US made Fenders, and I am having lessons...

It's going to be the longest 48 hours since the kids were born
22. Planet Waves item works fine for me E to G, but also when I had a 5-string it coped with a low B. You need to find the most resonant part of the headstock for optimal effect or tune with harmonics (or both).
23. I have a 130 gauge B string from a set of TI JF345 flats that has had very limited use that you are welcome to if you like.
24.
Looks like the Letts fretless has sold. Someone got the bargain of 2012 with that bass!
Please don't tell my wife.
25.
Nice one, looking forward to the update on that one. Which one in Alan's gallery is it? Peter
Hi Peter, here's the build diary for the bass... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/173590-acg-build/page__gopid__1905145#entry1905145
