5 out of the first 6 in the For Sale forum at the minute - are six strings more popular than ever, or are more people getting rid of them than ever? 😬 I started on a sixer (TRB Mk I, still have it), and am still as comfortable on one as anything else. Particularly like them for sight reading, playing chords, and solos.

@alinbassplayerI’m the opposite - narrow string spacing is fine for me (makes chording etc easier), but the slim neck makes my fretting hand cramp up very quickly.

I had a Combustion first and liked it, then traded it for a Super J on this forum. Loved that bass. When I got the opportunity to get its twin Super P, I jumped on it and got probably the best bass I’ve ever played.

@SymBassThe post was from 2015, so I’m going to tag @gingerfish in. FWIW, I had an MTD fretless with an unlined wenge fingerboard. Beautiful bass, sold to someone on here.

Same scale lengths as the Ibanez multiscale Soundgears. I had the six string and it was very nice, I only sold it because I found the neck way too slim for me.

32", Passive, One Pickup bass. What's out there?
therealting replied to J_Bass's topic in Bass Guitars
It would be easy to rewire as a passive P/J. -
I’m interested in this topic as well - I’m a seasoned Dingwall owner, but they don’t do any medium-scale 6 strings. My Super P5 (32-35”) is my #1 and as close to the perfect bass as I’ve tried, would love to find a 6-string companion to it particularly if the price is right.

@BassassinI doubt that’s the only difference between them! Was just trying to find anything to distinguish them from the photos.

@Elfrasho I don’t blame you one bit - I’m a sucker for 32” scale, and that one is a beaut! -
@BassassinLooks like the FPM has one more fret than the BO

There’s a killer bargain in the classifieds at the moment... active though. -

A Mk I TRB6 was my first bass and I still have it. I had a Glockenklang pre put into it and it transformed the thing - worth noting if you otherwise really like the instrument.

He has a signature model with them which I really like, medium scale narrow spacing sixer.

The “medium scale” (32-35”) Super P and Super J are obviously based on the two Fender models, all the others are 34-37” scale.
