1. Ha ha! I've never been so flattered!
2. I'd go to the second highest bidder on this one - sounds like he could be a pain in the backside, and should arrange his own courier as you clearly stated your postage terms. No way should the onus be on you to go and get quotes for him to approve, and 2 mins before an item closes is taking the mick! Best of luck with it!
3. I'm in! Cant wait til the weekend now!
4. Hi, would you split? Is the 210 abm? Also, where are you based? Cheers!!
5. Yeah, i read a few reviews about the evo being quiet and not man enough in a band context. I cant believe this with the 410 wont mtch a hard hitting drummer - assuming you havent smikey faced the eq or something.
6. Sounds fine to me. I believe the toir 700 runs down to 2 ohms so youll be getting around 450 watts at 4 ohms. No guarantee on tone though with mismatched cabs.
7. Not sure why youd need 215s for bedroom practice? A lot of higher wattage rated hybrid amps seem to have quite steep volume slopes. Sounds like you could do with a headphone out or small cab for home?
8. Hmm, apparently amp techs are entitled to holidays as well! I got a bit confused with the speaker jacks as there are three - 2 jack, one speakon. I'd definitely match it with an ABM for tone and vanity! very nice looking rigs. Really impressed with tones available - played one in rehearsal a few times but not properly messed about with it - theres an abundance of tones from kinda honky mids rich (which sounds like itd sit nicely in a mix) to thick and creamy. Feel like I got a steal on the bay once i get it sorted - i guess with the trend for light weight gear, this is starting to get overlooked. Looking forward to running it live. Thanks again for the assist, I'll update once properly resolved.
9. Thanks guys, gonna see if my local amp techs about!
10. Hi all, Hope you had a good christmas! I managed to pick up a cheap ABM off ebay - EVo ii 500 and an abm 410. I have a couple of questions/need a bit of an assist/welcome thoughts on the following if you fancy: 1. The amp has what seems to be a 'crackly' input gain control - sound is intermittent at low gains, but when higher sounds ok. Im going to contact ashdown but wondered if anyone was in the know about how to clean/check the issue? I'm not very tech and have tried changing leads (except the speakon now i come to think of it) 2. With the speaker outs at the rear, can i use any combination of jack and speakons? I cant find a user manual online. 3. How sensible would it be to add a 210 to this set up for larger gigs? I think a 210 would be good for practice, but i went with the 410 because it was good value and will cover gigs. I like the idea of a 610 modular rig, and think the power match would be ok....? Thanks for any assistance, sounds like a good amp from my initial play around, other than the crackle issue which i may push for some financial recompense. Cheers
11. Looks nice! I assume theres no detrement to the cooling of the amp?
12. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
13. I wondered what batman did in his spare time!
14. I say hurl. If you blow chunks and she comes back, she's yours. But if you spew and she bolts, then it was never meant to be.
15. Trying to learn some between the buried and me - Disease Injury Madness - probably far to above my level of ability but getting there with some parts......well, tuning down my bass as a starter! Also trying to nail fear of the dark perfectly......always manage to much up somewhere. But like Uncle Psycosis above, finding a 2 month old kinda hinders my progress a little, but I'm not complaining of course!
16. Wow, that looks pretty good! Guitarists are so better looked after in this area of 'boutique' small, low wattage valve amplifiers. Probably not a huge market though for bassists, but I'd love to own something like that for lower volume home practice and recording.
Look at this on eBay: MURDER ONE SUB MINI AMP HEAD; for zvex nano fans; UK made + 12v power supply http://bit.ly/V4aLeh
17. I understand you can use any MIDI-compatible pedal with this - guess its down to what type you prefer! Sorry, I cant make any recommednation - I used to own this head but didnt use that facility.
18. This was it: http://www.dc-developments.com/cornell_PedalAmp.htm looks nice, but PRICEY!!!! £690!!!
19. I think there was something in bass guitar mag a few issues back...? Not sure if that was along the lines youre describing, but was certainly pricey. Ill see if i can dig it out.
20. Thats my near perfect rig. Classy, simple but nasty! You definiely need a band to do that justice, that said its so nice looking, i bet you cant stop ooking at it...... I might use the pic as a screensaver! Ha!
21. I fully support the two tier classified charge or subscription. Makes sense to me as if youre personally making a finncial gain from an established database, you should contribute yo the maintenance of that database. Im not sure bout a tiered optional subscription. I agree every member benefits from knowledge and experience. I like the level playing field of everones views and comments that mke up the community. Could you send automted messages every 100 or so posts from the user requesting a donation? Accompanied by an interesting haiku or bass fact? Not sure if this is simple, but once an established or more frequent user it should inspire a contribution. The donte button and topics for donations are easy to ignore. Thanks for all the hard work guys.
22. Stunning set up! Congrats, hope it all sounds as great as it looks. Looking forward to hearing what you make of the 69er!
23. Cant believe this is still here...and I think the prices are all going up come the new year!
24.
It is part of my anti Class D/NEO thing
You know you can get an Anti-D injection - you just have to be rhesus negative blood group, a woman and preganant to qualify! Some pretty nice looking rigs. Anyone rocking a GK or F1 then? I agree, thats probably as daft as its gonna look.....??
25. Hmm, yeah probably not the best time to chuck up a 'show me your rigs cause I'm curious!'. Yeah, that looks pretty tidy though! JTUK, thats a mesa rig? I was toying with that idea for a while, but price point is a massive issue for me. I never really noticed much difference going between my ampeg SVT3 pro and genz shuttle 9 when I changed over.
