1. That's 300 at 4 ohms and the cab is 8 ohms so you'll get around 175 out the head. For that money I think you could get a 410 And better rated Amp on here. Hartke ashdown orange etc. First rig so learn what you do and don't like then move it on at little or no loss. My opinion and ymmv of course as that rig may last you a life time.
2. A 410 will likely be more than plenty for anything with pa support and will cover non pa pubs comfortably I expect. There are lighter and more transportable options if that's a consideration (and budgets useful)- 212s are popular currently. Rule of thumb power (albeit watts don't equal dbs) is 300 watts(solid state/hybrid) for gigging, which seems to be creeping to 500 more recent years. If you like the tone and features of that set up, go for it. I'd recommend shopping around though to see what you like and then buy second hand to maximise your bang per buck.
3. Price drop: £83.50 posted?
4. At last!!! Thank you! Can we get this post pinned now?!
Well funnily enough the Genz 2x12t looks good, its lightweight, has rubber casters at the back with rubber feet at the front and solid rattle free inset handles at the top rather than in the middle of the cab where they ruin the cabs tone, cost less and even Alex himself rates them as a good cab
5. I don't really understand all this. Barefaced have a set of design goals and usps and build cabs to meet those goals - practical, light and a great sound (obviously subjective). There are other cabs out there with similar design goals and different design goals. There are bassists with different tonal goals, practicality requirements and cash available. Barefaced owners are all a pretty happy bunch, the cabs do what they want. Non barefaced owners appear not to like barefaced so shouldn't they be happy they don't have one? If someone can point me in the direction of the perfect cab that meets everyone's needs I'd be grateful..........
6. Thanks guys I'll give them both a shout!
7. Can anyone recommend an amp tech in the area? My Ashdown needs the sub-harmomic effect sorted and probably a once over. Apparently any tech worth his salt should be able to sort this, but my local guy doesn't seem too familiar with ashdowns surprisingly but thinks it'll be ok once he opens it up - I cant really afford to pay for him to learn.... Any recommendations through experience would be appreciated. Many thanks
8. Back to top I'd do a deal on ehx freeze and/or ashdown dual footswitch for an abm.......possibly others......
9. I'm in the queue!! Fingers crossed it'll be with me in 4 weeks! .......
10. Withdrawn Price drop to £83.50 Hi all, I'm selling my VT bass (v1) as I seem to keep gasing for it when I don't have it then not using it when I do. Very good pedals and widely known. I'll get a pic up shortly, but looking for £83.50 posted. I have the tin and user guide sheet, good condition with Velcro on the back. I don't have the feet for it though. Could meet in Bedford, St Panc or Liverpool St. Drop me a line with any queries, Thanks for looking
11. Another Bump - I could courier this at cost.....I need to get a quote, but seem to recall its around 15-17 quid....subject to confirmation.... ...and dropped to £105.... Drop me a line if you're curious!
12. Worried about not having any downtime so said he'd have a think- essentially it sounds like a commitment thing which I'm not sure will pan out. Unfortunately he sounded good and was a good guy.
13. Hi, I've just started playing in a very Newly formed band which is pretty exciting. We auditioned a singer last night - really nice guy and good vox -who said he couldn't do regular rehearsals but could do it remotely once we had riffs etc down then rehearse every do often. This is far from ideal for me but I wondered if anyone did this successfully or if it was the norm?? Just curious really. Cheers
14. Another sunny day - this is ideal to take into the back garden and impress the neighbours with your amazing Bass skills.....with or without headphones!!
15. It's a lovely sunny day......why not buy a bass?!
16. Back to the top - I'll consider trades for an 8 ohm 212 cab with cash adjustment depending. Cheers
17. Hi all, I'm selling my home practice Amp as I need both space and cash for my nee daughter. Very nice for home practice with inbuilt tuner (that handles a low b nicely) various Amp/cab models and decent built in effects. Also has a good aux in and headphone to jam with your iPod, YouTube etc late at night. I've hardly used this and had it less than a year, although taken the sticker off the front. I live in Bedford but commute to London so options to meet up if if interest. I'll lob up a pic or two later, and welcome any questions etc. Feedback is in the feedback thread, I'm generally awesome! Thanks for looking
18. I've decided to sell my Ibanez SR905 as I'm no longer using it following the purchase of a Feline Bass guitar. It's a lovely playable bass, fast comfy neck and very comfortable to wear. This is Korean built and is really versatile across genres - I've played metal, rock, soul and R&B with this. I'm selling a "package" which includes bass and strap (incl. Dunlop strap locks), hard case, stand and a new set of Rotosound strings. There is some wear to the bass - there's some buckle rash on the rear, a little bit of wear by a pickup where I used to rest my thumb - I've tried to show this as accurately as possible in pics. Happy to meet in London, or within a reasonable drive from Bedford and you're welcome to come by and have a look etc, may also consider couriering this depending on negotiation. Here's the blurb and drop me a line with any queries or if you want more pics (hopefully inserted properly!): "Sleek, sexy, and sonically versatile—the SR905 bass is at home in the studio and on any stage. 19. Not meanign to derail this, but how does the BDI21 compare with the VT? Is it worlds apart of can you dial in a similar-esque vibe?
