1. Sorry Matt, this is now sold. Apologies for not updating

3. Id always thought of metallica as a leading thrash band of the genre. Turns out I was wrong as Lars in today's metro has put me right "we're not par-t of a genre, we're not part of a wave...........we're our own entity completely autonomous". Who knew?! I stand corrected and feel a little embarrassed that I thought they were part of the thrash movement! Good ol Lars!
4. It's impossible to predict the second hand market, however I think the price will drop on the older models - maybe not immediately, but they will. G3 will hit the second hand market at some point in the future and as an updated newer model based on barefaced resale to date I expect them to hold a very good second hand price. I think it's at the point that g3 hit the market that prices will begin to drop more.
5. Great pic! Look forward to your initial thoughts on the cab
6. There was an article on Steve in Bass guitar mag a good few months back now they also interviewed his roadie. I think he boosts the treble a bit and referenced his fingernails as key elements to his tone from memory, in addition to that mentioned above
7. Wowza, check the BF facebook page for a size comparison - 1st Gen v 3rd Gen..... Really cant wait for my big twin to arrive!!
8. Well that's a reasonably eventful night! Shame about your drummer - hope he recovers. Guess you'll have to annoy the neighbours a bit for the next 10 days!
The first Super Twin survived the gig test with ease, but to be fair it wasn't too hard as the drummer ended up in hospital an hour or so before the gig, so we ended up playing without him. The bass sounded good, but the whole band was playing at low volume, and to an audience of 'young' dementia sufferers! 'Young' seemed to mean under 80 or so, but they were a good audience to play to, Another ten days to the next gig, with either our regular drummer or a dep.
9. I guess it'll take a little for the drivers to fully break in, but looking forward to your first thoughts FinnDave, hope you have a good time!
10.
Yeah cabs just don't work when there's a grill over the port. For shame.
I'd made the assumption the tank fired jelly (unset) and/or custard (runny).....
11.
Using the same anology, just imagine the British Army buying tanks where a large portion of the engine was left unprotected just so the gun could be a little more powerful.
I think you're analogy is better suited if you talk about covering up the gun chamber - which then makes the tank ineffective....like a grille over a port.....
12. Hmmm. Dropped my compact down a full flight of stairs once accidentally landing against a door. Not a mark on it, nothing fell off, rattled or affected the cab in the slightest. Whilst I wouldn't recommend doing this - they can withstand it. Sounds of a rash comment that....
Whils't you are all singing the praises of The BF cabs , nobody seems to mention the poor materials used in there construction. I think if you hit a door frame carrying one it through the cab would fall to pieces ,IMO,
13. That could turn into quite a niche (but very cool) 'show your barefaced and hobgoblin' thread!
Fantastic! Hope all goes well. Looking forward to the pics and sounds. When I eventually get mine (wonder what number?), will post pic c/w pint of Hobgoblin and Hobgoblin T-shirt!
14. Nice work - I'm surprised you can sleep - I'd probably just stand around looking at it from different angles Look forward to the update!
15. Always a difference between want and need. Latest and greatest always gets everyones juices flowing, but once the dust has settled theres probably only ever incremental differences....not necessarily better, just differences.
16. Thanks for that - that seems reasonable for mesa to me....assuming they're any good of course. I'll have to have a read over what the strategy offers for the significant uplift....
17. Wow that looks nice!! I reckon they'll end up around the £2k mark here?? any advances?
18. Hmmm, not slow enough it seems..... the only thing missing from that picture is a pint!
19. Cheers, looking forward to it Thanks, our local hobgoblin pub closed down about 12 months ago much to my disappointment - used to be great live music venue and hobgoblin was under £2 a pint some nights! WOW! GOLD CARD?!! Makes me even more envious of you now!!
20. Great stuff! That's exactly the amp i'm running at present so be very interested in your thoughts ahead of my own delivery in the next few weeks
21. Congrats! Looking forward to hearing how it performs on a gig!!
22. Wow, cant wait to play one.........or two!!
23. +1 to the above - albeit I ran with 2 compacts and it was huge - still huge with one compact (handled outdoor gigs easily!)
24. Did anyone grab any snaps of the cabs from the bass bash? Mr Foxen, That sounds mental! Brilliant!!
