  1. I'm a bit out of my depth on this but I'd imagine a ported design to perform differently to a sealed enclosure. I owned a 410 abm with an evoii and couldn't get it biting enough in the minds for my taste and I play a little scooped I think. Nit really much help I'm afraid but I'd see if there's a bc'er local perhaps to try one out, or buy second hand sensibly and shift it on once you've ab'd it perhaps.
  2. Yeah this was my first as well! 13 years ago!! Still got it but needs attention. Solid Amp for Home
  3. thanks tayste, interesting read, albeit a shaky start! interesting about the noise vs the meatbox, ive not really noticed the DoD being particularly noisy in my chain.
  4. Mr a was simple defending a bit of a harsh statement, and nicely so as his response was acknowledged by the poster as fair points. Anyway, I like the sentiment of this thread. My abm evo ii is running lovely!
  5. Ah, cool. Well look forward to how it runs out loud then
  6. +1! Hoping mines a couple of weeks away now as well!!
  7. Yeah that's whats put me off going for the hulk so far - the 'smoothness' rather than the dirtier octave. I like the meatbox a lot and its become a pretty bog standard in a lot of our songs for parts. Interesting they do runs of 10 - My email last week was replied to saying they only had one prototype to sell and itd be on ebay shortly.... :/
  8. I'm interested in what you make of it as a direct comparison. I prefer the other mantic finishes personally rather than the close to the dod finish. Just my preference though. Looking forward to more update! Have you played other mantics? I've been liaising withem a little recently. Was this the last prototype they had?
  9. Anyone know if anyone ever manufactured these? I have a massive urge to get hold of one - had the urge for about 9 months and reckon I can just about get away with it!
  10. That's a nice kick in the face for a Tuesday morning man!! Enjoyed it a lot. Not really any more feedback I'm afraid other than thanks! (And I'm gasing for matamp )
  11. Yeah seems to be going strong, regular live music and the bar staff seem to enjoy themselves which is always good. Yeah, not too far, it was the steps up off the platform that were the biggest challenge!! Guess I'm not 23 anymore!! Ha ha!
  12. Played George ii in Luton last night. Our second gig and went really well. Crowd got into it which is always good and got some great compliments from random punters which is always nice! I was pretty ambitious taking my rig on a train but managed it (just!). Big twin 2 Ashdown abm pedal board and Bass. On a trolley and hard work, but all good. Probably wouldn't do it again in a hurry though!! Next stop metal 2 the masses tonight in Camden!
  13. More feedback when you do please! I'm considering a move to valve in the future and Ashdown are in my shortlist!
  14. Merton, that's a beauty of a rig!!! I'd love to try the CTm100, that will no doubt sing when cranked!!
  15. I like peavey. Looks interesting offering and some nice features. I hope they manage to pack some weight into those small packages though, otherwise it isn't real peavey
  16. That just sounds wrong IMO for a Class D to be: 1. That expensive 2. That heavy I may be a little technically stunted though with regard to what Class D's major selling points are though and would happily be corrected if anyone else is better informed
  17. 500 was always plenty when I was gigging it - that included outdoor gigs with no pa. Loud crashy punk/rock covers band with two guitars. Always nice to have something that can level the audience though.....as long as your cabs don't go pop first! Part of the attraction of the Terror for me at least, was it's an angry beast and cuts brilliantly through the mix.
  18. Be interesting to see how it compares to the TB1000. Possibly more versatile. I'd also like to see a rear shot to see whats going on. orange sleeve extra....hmmmm.....
  19. Graham, I believe the peaking is fine on the shuttles and is a sign they are going into their power management mode. I think there's something in the manual on it but when I had mine I recall it was nothing to worry about and quite normal. I don't have experience with the streamliner though. Merton, lovely stuff! Looking forward to it!!!
  20. Yeah, plus 1 to the midget. It adds a great level of 'growl' to a compact and I think it would be exactly what you're looking for if you consider the Compact to be dark. Righteous rig that, loved mine when I was running it.
  21. There's a rat tail in the for sale section at the mo.....GET IT!!!
  22. Hi I'm not using these so off loading. as the title and pictured. Cheers
  23. Pretty wide spectrum I expect you'll get in responses. Any particular tone you have in mind/ not happy with at the moment? For Grundy aggressive distortion, I use a tech 21 Xxl and love it. Aguilar Agro was a close second though. I slso have an Sfx micro fuzz for fuzz. Probably changing it up for a cog fuzz soon though. I've also previously enjoyed a turbo rat for distortion and a tech 21 vt bass for overdrive.
