3. ooof, I actually don't have many pedals - 5 I total excl. tuner. but use them kinda equally. Reckon I'd go for a fuzz and a wah.... :/
4. I've gone light on my cabs with Neo drivers, albeit its still 22kg, but I like like what they do and how the cab performs. Amp wise, I went through a few Class Ds and accidentally fell back into a heavy weight hybrid that then made me realise I was missing a bit. Now gone all valve (400w) whilst I'm only just the right side of youth to manage it. So my preferred rig is now a Laney Nexus and Barefaced Big twin, and my lightweight carry on the train is a walkabout cause that carries far more authority in a drop tuning than orange, genz, tc, or anything else I've tried with my current set up. Great to have options though so heavy weight becomes a choice rather than a core fact of bassing.
5. Shame Alex doesn't post over here anymore....
6. I think purpose of this thread is discussion about the product as the op has ordered one, together with feedback once it's out. I'm not sure if their 610 is out atm but I understand this is simply modular based system on that. I'm interested in this thread to see one wild and hear thoughts on it. Guess anything with barefaced in the title will attract criticism round here, which is a shame. Big gripes from some about handles and finish look to be addressed and still it wnot be good enough - however the company improves over time. Personally I just find constant barefaced criticism makes for some very boring and predictable reading, often moves off topic unecessarily and makes reading topics I'm interested in hard work.
7. KT88s are TAD as I understand. Thanks for the input above, much appreciated
8. Just carried my big twin 2 through my front door using the handles. A ok. Also used the top handle to pick it up earlier. Very enjoyable
9. Hi All, Making a decision on my laney Nexus to either get a full change of valves (to Marshalls as used in the VBA 400) or to get 3 TADs replaced. Money is pretty similar. Wondered what experience or difference there was between the two (if any). Making a decision in the next 24 hrs and really not experienced with this kinda stuff!!
10. This is my current rig and I love it. Sounds monstrous. ...and the little vintage number that I run for time to time when plug and play is in order....beautiful straight forward TONE!
11. Good stuff man. Yeah I've been using the HF control on by BT2 and normally go tweeterless on my previous set ups. Great feeling when new gear hits the spot
12. I use a 400w laney nexus all valve and an all valve 100w burman with a bt2, which I guess would ve similar. I love it. Great tone. The burman sounds really cranked through it when full pumping, very aggressive when the calves are pushed to the limit. I really like it. Wouldn't change my set up for anything other than adding another bt2 or bb2- which is totally stupid and unnecessary.....but....that's why it's appealing!
13. Purchased a wah from padawanguz. Comms were a little slow at times, but it was a smooth transaction, a very well looked after item, exactly as described and packaged fantastically to preserve it in the hands of the postage company. I wouldn't hesitate buying from this gent again.
14. Lovely lovely rig.
15. Played a 21st birthday party for our guitarists daughter. Bit of a drinking band, but never too bad until that Friday night. The drummer had had a few before arriving...a few we thought..... 4 songs in with some pretty terrible drumming and I turned round during mony mony to see him pulling his phone out his pocket, swaying and texting....still drumming.... Sixth song in and he fell asleep at the kit mid song. A couple of well placed kicks got him going again and he managed to wobble through the rest of the set somehow!
16. Pics please when it's all set up!!!
17. Really tempted by these but can't justify more cab as I have plenty at the moment. Watching this with interest when it arrives
18. Buy it. If it's a good deal you won't loose out and if you have space then it won't clutter. You can take it out when you fancy leave it when you don't. Massive rigs are cool.
19. Ashdown. C'est tout. mag abm or cl. No smaller than 410 in my experience. Peg I find muddy
20. Wow, thats quite some thread about handle placement ...at least its stayed on topic :s I like the handle arrangement on mine. Top is great to wheel it around venues or stages, but can also be used to pick up the cab with a bit of consideration to where the centre of balance is for the cab. Side handles work well for general carrying either single or double handed IMO. Im using a BT2.
21. Leeds and m1 corridor tomorrow....let me know tonight or I won't pack it!
