  1. I can relate to this, I started playing bass around 30 years ago, my first bass was a Vox Standard P type bass, I found that it was somewhat limited tonally and soon yearned for a Jazz Bass as one of my mates had one, and I thought it sounded just so cool. I bought my first Jazz in '92, it was a USA Jazz Plus V and I loved it and gigged it solidly for around 12 years or so, that's when I started to buy a few nice basses as surplus money was a little easier - I bought among other things a US P Bass that had a Dimarzio pick up fitted, that's when I first really appreciated a P. Now I've got a superb Sonic Blue AVRI '63 P Bass that is just lovely to play, sits well in the mix and is also nice and light weight. I still like to mix it up when gigging and I do feel lucky to have a number of nice basses to choose from🙂
  2. Do people really part with their hard earned moolah for that? I’m a fan of a natural relic, anyone that’s seen my Oly White ‘69 Jazz Bass will know how much I love it - but this just seems way over the top and completely unnatural? Not for me I’m afraid.
  3. I think I may have bought that from you to use with my DB750? Hmm, do I need an upgrade....
  4. Did you used to use this with an Aguilar GS412 by chance?
  5. Uncle Jack have been a busy gigging band for 15yrs across Wilts Dorset and Hampshire. Sadly due to illness we are now looking for a lead singer. All delivered in a live jukebox - the audience call em and we play em. Chosen from a list of 85 songs ! A full diary for 2020 when gigs start up again ( usually2 per month). Band members in 40-60 age range. Stable Line up is bass drums lead rhythm and vocs. If this is the sort of thing you are looking for call Dave on 07941947327. Take a look at:. www.unclejackweb.co.uk
  6. Bought a YYZ pedal from Ben - all good, cheers Pete😁
  7. Yeehah! 😁😁🤣
  8. Pm incoming
  9. I'm intrigued too, our drummer uses a P&D drumthrone and he swears by it......I can definitely see the benefit of having one of these and am sorely tempted to try one, it just seems a bit extravagant (ott) for pubs and the occasional corporate gig? GLWTS🙂
  10. Awesome bit of kit, I've an Aguilar DB750 and a Trace RAH600SMX but the bandmates are always blown away by the F1, so much heft from an amp the size of a hard back book. GLWTS, can't imagine it'll be here very long, good price too👍🏻🙂
  11. This post is really bizarre, it keeps resurfacing from time to time? I bought this way back when it was first advertised - typically I’ve also filled it up! 😊
  12. Just to echo the sentiments of many others - thanks for all your help with my cabling requirements and advice along the way🙂 Enjoy your retirement and West Cornwall - lovely! 😁
  13. PM incoming
  14. Hmmm I'm flying into Bristol tomorrow, then back at work in Bristol on Monday..... It's very tempting......
  15. Keep coming back to this - must resist....😍👍
  16. Ooof, must resist, been thinking of trying one of these for a while - and it's one of my fave colour combos too😍
  17. I'm sure it would provide lots of kindling....
  18. Beats me why someone would bother to modify a perfectly good original bass, that was worth a few quid in its own right, and is now left with a bit of a white elephant of questionable origin? I sold my Dirnt Roadworn for around £1200.00!?
  19. Whereabouts in Dorset please? 😊
  20. I messaged him to ask about the Custom Shop Certificate, sadly no longer available as all the contents of the tweed case we're damaged in a house flood.....it was listed on Gumtree when I'd seen it, £1500. I thought it looked like a Mike Dirnt Roadworn, I used to have one and the wear looks very, very similar, but I'm not sure why you'd swap out a perfectly legit Fender decal for a duff one? Bit of an odd thing swapping out the hardware and decal? Seems like a fair amount of effort for very little return, unless it's a Squier Dirnt I guess? Either way, I shan't be passing with any funds for that.
