Spyder Live In Flightcase for Valve Amp Head, this was housing my Marshall VBA400, think it would fit Ampeg possibly - see dimensions in photos, collection preferred but happy to assist with postage/courier if buyer arranges at own cost. All catches in perfect working order, has ‘Rattlesnakes’ stencilled on outside for added mojo.

I’d say it’s not as dark as an SVT (although that could be to do with the cab) - I’ve heard folks say the EQ on these can seem a bit limited, I did have the deep switch and bright switch engaged, left the table and bass controls at noon and boosted the mids a touch - to my ears it sounded quite articulate for a valve amp, despite plenty of overdriven tones, I was digging in hard during a couple of Nirvana covers and you could clearly hear the difference. Really pleased with it👍🏻😊 -

Absolutely awesome, really pleased with it, I used the GS412 with it as the Bassman cab pretty much fills the load area of my car. I’d been mulling over getting a valve amp for a while and almost pulled the trigger on a SVT - this thing goes into overdrive and just sounds like I was hoping and wanting it to, yes it’s super heavy at 76lbs, almost double the weight of my DB750 (and that’s pretty heavy at 46lbs) but totally worth the effort😊👍🏻🤘 -
I still have my Barefaced cab for the really tricky load-ins, and to be honest it sounds equally as good as the 412. That is the only draw back, but it sounds so good so totally worth it, anyway, that’s what band mates are for😁

We played at The Angel Inn in Andover last night, had a few of our regulars make the journey from Salisbury to see our first outing of the year, smallish crowd to start with and then the place soon filled up, lots of singing and even some dancing on the bar, so a great night was had by all. First gig with the Marshall VBA400 - I’d been hankering for a valve amp since joining this band as we do classic rock covers, and wanted that sound - wow! It certainly does that in spades, even had my jeans flapping a few times, reminded me of my younger days! Very happy😊👍🏻

I’m considering giving this a run out on Friday night, not sure about the cab, it’s a monster to move around and have heard conflicting reports regarding performance. -
I feel bad now after hearing the difficulties you guys are facing regarding getting gigs, chasing gigs can be soul destroying at the best of times ☹️ - my first outing last night, the first of 45 gigs booked for this year so far (still have 4 dates to fill for later this year), we played a working men’s club in Chandlers Ford and the place was busy with lots of singing and dancing all night - not quite sure what bass face I was pulling here? Looks more like gurning to me🤣

I feel the same about this😊🤘

🤣🤣 There used to be a band locally to me called The Pink Torpedos, and I once played in a band called The Willy Stroker Band.

For reasons of full transparency I have noticed a minor problem with the power in socket - it seems a bit loose but once the power lead has been fitted it operates without fault, this has the gate/boost mod and has been a regular on my board for around 4 years or so - a couple of minor blemishes to the paint but nothing too serious as can be seen in the photo - if you want more pics please ask. Has Velcro on bottom. Prefer collection but will post at cost.

Really nice Subdecay Echobox pedal, adds a little reverb or wind it up and it’ll do a nice chorus effect, wind up further and you can get infinite repeats - a really versatile pedal that has been on my board for around 4 years - but remains in very good condition. Has Velcro on back and original box. Prefer collection but will post at cost.

Mine from NYE, I was giving the MarkBass a shakedown as I use that as my back up amp to my DB750, the MB has been super reliable but a couple of months back it stopped working mid gig, I finished that gig by DI'ing from my Darkglass Alpha Omega straight to the PA (it sounded pretty good tbh), hence the Trace Elliott on standby. I'd had the MB amp checked by a tech who could find nothing wrong, so that got me to thinking that maybe the power strip on the back of the rack case was faulty, swapped that out for a new one and thankfully problem solved. -
We picked up a gig last minute as the pub had been let down by another band due to sickness, a bit of a slow start but eventually the punters were suitably lubricated enough to take to the dance floor, so all turned out well in the end. The pub rebooked us, we had an enquiry about a private party also and we were fed and watered, so all was good, although not quite The Maldives….I think mrtcat won the Internet with that gig😊🤘👍🏻

As you mention, it’s all very subjective, it never ceases to amaze how one combination of amp and cab can be loved and hated in equal measure, depending on what the users ears tell them. For many years I used a Trace AH300SMX and 2 Peavey 4x10Tx’s and loved the sound you could dial from a Fender Jazz, I reproduced that fairly recently, as a friend has my old rig, I plugged in the same Jazz and just couldn’t settle with it (my back would’ve been thankful)🤷♂️

The DB750 is definitely, and shall remain number one - you're right it is heavy but just sounds immense, I've got a Trace RAH600SMX that I'm thinking of moving on, it's been a back up to my back up🤣 for a while now, incidentally the back up is a MarkBass F1 with a Sansamp GED2112 used for tone shaping - the back up sounds great and there's nothing wrong it. It's weird, I've been completely GAS free in respect of amps until I joined the rock band, the DB has that covered completely, but somehow the GAS has returned? Maybe I'll try the Tonehammer, but sometimes it's nice to have a bit of a change. My head says stop gassing but that's easier said than done🤣

I have to admit that Fusion was posted up last night and I was semi interested, The EBS I’ve heard lots of positives about as well and that had caught my eye also - there’s a couple of EBS amps at The Bass Gallery that I’d looked at but again, I’ve never tried one and don’t know anyone locally that’s used one either. I may have to do a bit of research and try a few I think😊

Thanks again for the reply, I do appreciate the input🙂 Think I might take a trip to Bass Direct and try the Mesa - I've always wanted something Boogie and think this might do me well🙂👍

Thanks for the reply🙂 I'm playing in a Jukebox band (party type band/popular covers) and also have recently joined a classic rock covers band (AC/DC, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath etc) and was thinking of possibly getting my hands on an Ampeg of some sort (there's one at The Bass Gallery and Bass Direct also have an SVT) although then I got to thinking that may be a bit much as a back up? Bass Direct have also just got a used Mesa into stock, I've never tried anything Mesa but was thinking that may be more suitable? Hmm, what to do.....
