The Ashdown doesn't use the ICE power module , it is a much bigger thing they use. I'm not saying too much about big iron versus class D...got accused of imagining things last time..!

I'd have just done the first set as asked , took half the money then never bothered playing there again.

I played a couple of these in the states recently. They were both really nice , sounded and played well. my only problem was the pickup switch. It looked slightly too big for the size of the bass and on both models the switch was very crackly which was suprising on a brand new bass. No other problems though and I'd be happy to gig one.

Ask them for some tolex glue while you're at it.....!

They had loads in guitar centre in LA when I was there last week....if you're passing that way !!

My 1992 L2000 has been my main bass for a year now , fantastic bass.

Indeed , my ABM 300 which I bought 15 years ago has never been short of tone , punch or power , unlike the class D heads I used for a while. My Ampeg SVT 6 pro has even more power but I never need to run it hard. The micro amps are ok for convenience but in my experience are no match for an A/B amp.....unless I'm imagining it of course !!

Most of the places we play were not designed for live music...just have to do what you can and get on with it !

It might all fit in , but whether it's safe for the road or not is another issue...

Went to see Rainbow last night in Birmingham and they were superb. Blackmore sounded as good as ever , did a two hour set of classics and even looked like he enjoyed himself !

Any reason you didn't go for the 610 as it would be cheaper and easier to move around maybe ?

Just don't expect one 12 inch speaker to be able to do what four 10 inch speakers can do.

If it sounds good then it is good. Don't worry about 'rules' , do what works for you.

I don't get it. [/quote] I have no problem at all with 410 cabs , I have used many of them for years and always liked them. I have not slagged Barefaced off or said their products are no good etc , I just made the point about the 410 shape which was they said was wrong for several reasons. I myself have never found a 410 difficult to transport and couldn't understand why others had a problem with them. The marketing telling us that we don't need 410 cabs and then producing one doesn't really sit too well with me , that's all. Now stop being so bloody defensive about Barefaced and accusing other people of slagging them off , as by doing so you create these arguments then sit back and blame others. End of my contribution to this thread due to being shouted down , yet again , by the Barefaced fan club.

[/quote] The shape was one reason these cabs were deemed to be 'wrong' a few years ago and I remember hearing that a vertical 410 is the best way to do it but cab makers won't do those because it's not what the public want. So , now we go full circle with a 'normal' shaped 410....yes I know all about the low pass thing etc etc.. Funny old world sometimes....
