1. I had one of these too. With the master at 12 o clock it was pretty much running at full power as it never got louder after that. They tend to go into protect mode if pushed hard.
 2.
I wouldn't be using it bridged at 8 ohms. 500W at 4 ohms is an absolute minimum for me and my current Yamaha power amp is more than that anyway, hence why I'd like a marginal amount of more power for headroom if it's an upgrade, if you see my point.
Yep , fair enough !
 3.
Such a pity it's only 500W per side. If it was 800W, I'd probably grab one. Sound samples please!
1000W not enough then ?
 4. Great show , a refreshing change from crap like X Factor and The Voice.
 5.
I thought he would be using a Maruszczyk by now...
He might do if he's given one for free....
 6.
If I had to take a guess, I'd say the marketing language is pretty bold & aggressive*... which I suspect is more of a magnet to critics. *I'm not suggesting for one minute that it's untrue, just bold & aggressive.
Hang on....I'm just getting the biscuits....
 7.
Ok, poor choice of words. But I still don't know why it's only his products that get this amount of polarising discussion.
I could give you my opinions on why....but I'm really not going down that rabbit hole again....#allbeensaidbefore...
 8.
Where is Alex getting slagged?
Er...he's not as far as I can tell. Larry Hartke doesn't get slagged for the simple reason that his products are really good , reliable , durable and value for money..so why would he ?
 9. JE was almost deaf too , hence his use of treble so he could hear himself.
 10.
3. The sound of a speaker and the sound of a cab are inextricably intertwined - the cab determines how the speaker sounds and vice versa. If you mic a speaker you hear the sound of the cab, just like if you look at a person in a hall of mirrors you see what they look like from that angle and many other angles too.
I'm a bit confused by how if you close mic a speaker , you are getting the whole cab sound ? If you put your ear close to a single speaker you get a different tone to the one you get from being further away from the cab as you are then hearing all the speakers plus the ports and tweeters etc. Likewise , when recording a cab , it's common practice to close mic a speaker and also use another mic further away to record the whole cab plus ambient sound etc. Maybe there is something I'm missing here but it's how I always perceived how a mic on a cab worked.
 11. I use my VT Bass pedal like this also. I have my sound set up on the amp and the pedal set so it doesn't alter the tone so much but just livens the whole thing up. Been using it ever since I got it 7 years ago.
 12. It's quite similar , spec wise , to my Ampeg SVT6 Pro which also sounds monsterous ! looks like it has selctable mid frequencies with cut and boost ? Sweet looking amp.
 13.
Fab! As it happens, the postman has just been here too. And left me one of these... What a beast... I'll use it on Saturday night.
This looks like my kind of amp !
 14.
Best get some arnica and some plasters too. EDIT: hopefully it won't get to stitches. EDIT2: or broken limbs.
But it could break the internet....
 15.
I've actually owned one and disliked it but looking at the replies the fan club have given other people I decided not to say anything before, now I have I will be put on the naughty step with a few others, must be my amp, bass, playing, venue, cab choice for genre of music before it being not for me,that said I sold it on after six months of struggling with it without any problems or losing much money.
You have just announced your not liking of a Barefaced cab ...out loud on Basschat... *puts on crash helmet and waits for the fan club to wade in* Is anyone else going to the shops...??
 16.
Who made you the boss of the internet?
This...made me laugh so much...!! Just got a triple pack of Jaffa cakes...half price from Tesco !
 17.
Nah, as we all know Macca likes a nice 'woolly' tone so is an Ashdown fanboi.
No , he plays through Mesa Boogie gear.
 18.
Ha! I notice one or two members who usually like to chime in on a Barefaced thread are here conspicuous by their absence. Perhaps they are on holiday, or something..?
Or maybe its because being shouted down by the fan club becomes tiresome ?
 19.
No he couldn't Marshall don't give kit for free. The artists pay for it. They get a lot of support for tours etc thrown in, but they pay for the gear. Ashdown don't give it away free either.
20.
Not at all. No other 210, 410 or 810 have the same spec as the Barefaced versions. It's all on the website.
Ok then ...you know what I meant when I said 'more traditional' as opposed to the others in the product range...
 21. I'm not bashing the situation at all , just contributing to the discussion on if he paid full price or not. I always like to see British companies doing well and I hope these endorsements turn out to be profitable for him. It's also interesting that It's the more traditional type of cabs he's gone for , they would be my choice too.
 22.
Is that true?
Well It's on the Barefaced website...
 23. Well he does have the endorsement scheme where the cab is free in return for high profile use and exposure....
 24. But surely everyone knows that a One10 cab with a Class D car radio amp is all you need for any gig.....?? I'll get me coat....
 25. I had a TNT Black Widow combo for a few years many years ago. I always found it to be a bit boxy sounding and compressed too much as it got loud , so hopefully this amp sounds a lot better. What are clown buttons by the way ?
