1. A few years ago we bought a headphone amp that allowed the whole band to plug in so we could rehearse silently. It was a basic version of this and worked ok. Our drummer used electronic pads so noise was kept to a minimum. We only used it a couple of times though as you just don't get the same feel as from playing at normal levels. Dave.
2. Viva Englandia video had it's first tv showing today with Tony Audenshaw on Loose Women , check it out on ITV.com if you missed it !
3. Viva Englandia by White Van Man , featuring Emmerdale's Tony Audenshaw and top opera singer Sean Ruane is released 24th May on iTunes and 7 digital.com. The perfect song to take England to world cup victory !!
4. Nice one Alex , all looks good to me. Really looking forward to trying it out. Dave.
5. Viral fan club ?? No , i just found the thread and posted my experience with the cables !!
6. The quality of Pete Cornish cables really is second to none. Yes they are a bit pricey but very much value for money. Build quality is perfect and they do sound much better than any other cable i have used and i have used many cables over the years !
7. Superb customer service , I have always found them great to deal with.
8. All this growling and burping is very confusing !! I just like a bass to sound like a bass !!
9. I have been using these flats for around 2 years now and they are superb. I use them on my P bass and recently changed to roundwound Ernie Balls for a change. After a couple of gigs i took them off again and put the flats back on ! These flats are just great in a band setting , really powerful and punchy. I also used them for recording our new single 'VivaEnglandia' , i took my P bass with the flats and my Jazz with rounds just in case the flats didn't work too well in the studio. Straight away we got a great sound with the Ernie Ball flats. Check them out , I don't think you will be dissapointed !
10. I agree , as long as it works for you then it's all good. Well done for making the effort to build something yourself , much more satisfying than just buying from a shop !!
11. I would like to try the compact too please , I'm another one in Stockport. Dave.
12.
I never go out of my way to damage my bass. But if im wasted and finish a set by throwing her at the drumkit, then well, Shes got a few beauty scars I also like the feel of a dried sweaty bass. Plays smoother. All IMO etc
Not been funny , but why would you play a gig when you are wasted ? Does your audience and band mates not deserve a good show rather than a drunken one ? Also , I can't imagine any drummer i have played with to be impressed by having a bass thrown at their kit.....
13. Maybe this cab is good at some frequencies and not others ? I've had cabs like that in the past. Is this not why the Big One has a smaller mid range driver to get those frequencies ? This is why i have used 10's for years ( some 12's too ) , as they give more punch across the whole range.
