I turn the knobs until I get the sound I like and that works. Imagine if sound engineers didn't use eq at live gigs or on recordings.

    Because as soon as you plug it into something It's affected by circuitry , speakers etc etc so It's no longer flat.

    Don't get sucked into the flat eq thing , It's nonsense. If you want to hear your bass with flat eq then don't plug it in.

    I still vote for 19 inches as it would fit both 4x10 cabs and the newer 2112 cabs. Main thing is the sound though and making it simple. Some sort of self bias control would be great too.

    Should the cab be shaking that much ? My cabs don't and I don't exactly play quietly.

    To me tone controls are there to be used to get the sound you like and works for the gig. I don't buy into the controls at noon business , if it sounds good like that then fair enough but if not don't be afraid to move them to your liking.

    A 200 watt version of this would suit me fine. The 19'' width sounds perfect too. looking forward to seeing how this all works out.

    Just turn the knobs until it sounds good to you. It's the best way to get a sound that you like.

    My old Marshall VBA was 400 watts and the power was ridiculous plus expensive to re valve . 200 watts valve power would be much more useable and I'd be more than happy to gig with that .

    You'll probably find that these old trace heads sound better than many micros. As has been said , they aren't that heavy at all. I remember the days when all we cared about was the sound an amp made , nowadays first thing many care about is the weight !! Anyway 60 quid for this ? If you don't buy it then I will !

    Good amps those , should be perfect for you connected to a decent cab.

    There wasn't anything wrong with my Streamliner so to speak and I used it for 2.5 years with no trouble at all. I just started using my older non class D amps again and decided I liked the sound of them better. Streamliner is still a good amp though.

    You need a bigger amp. The LB30 isn't really meant for loud gigs to be honest.

    Sounds good as long as you like distortion. Interested to find out if it does loud and clean too.

    The more bells and whistles means more stuff to go wrong. Any amp with a control called Kosmos and lights that you can change the colour of is not for me.

    I'm not that impressed with the lightweight heads , the older heavier amps just sound and feel better to me . Some of the newer light cabs are great though.

    I've got the 212MNT and it's superb. Big sound and really even over it's frequency range. Well recommended.

    Just get a p bass , an ampeg and be done with it !!

    Work to the strengths of the vocals.Turn everything down until the vocals are loud and clear enough without feedback otherwise it all becomes a volume war and sounds a distorted mess out front. In those type of halls sometimes the only way to make it work is to use less volume not more.
