Not really - when US Music owned Eden they did a good job of damaging the brand. Since Marshall took over they have a better UK and worldwide distribution channel, new products and have tempted some of the old team back to the fold according to Talkbass
 2. Oooh, nice
 3. Buy whynot's Barefaced Compact on here. 1x15, light, almost certainly more sensitive than what you have. They are the best 1x15 cab I've ever used
 4.
Pics attached...
Nice
 5.
Lucky enough to own both an LB30 and a CTM100. I was using the LB30 for rehearsals and small gigs initially, and it kept up with our guitarist's Fender Blues Junior quite comfortably. Then he upgraded to a Blackstar Artisan 15 and I needed more clout, so the CTM100 was a perfect upgrade. I would say that tonally they're not too far apart, though it's a bit hard to compare, as those passive EQs can give you a surprisingly broad range of sounds. But if you're looking for something that can give you a similar tone to an LB30, but at full-band volume levels, then you have made a very sound choice. Hope you enjoy it!
I concur!
 6. I didn't even realise the GK had an overload light! I always used my ears but also got used to roughly where the control would end up with my different basses and playing styles
 7.
That's right. £150 isn't bad - I think I paid over £400 when I used to have one!
Bloody steal!
 8. Cracking amp - so good I bought a second after regretting selling the first for a bigger heavier valve amp! Pictures!!
 9. Was that the one on eBay? I almost went for that...!
 10. Photos look great - hopefully I can be there next year rather than just sending one of my basses haha!
 11. Have told a mate about this, it's exactly what he needs methinks
 12.
They seem like a perfect match. Im still trying to figure out the best to set the Gain/Master. I know the manual states use the Gain to control the overall level, and have the master up quite high, but im wondering if doing things the more conventional way will be better. Plenty to play around with though.
I always used the Gain to push the preamp valves then used the master for overall stage volume. Setting up the "GK way" makes it harder to get any real grit (in my experience)
 13.
i actually prefer the single input and use the gain, i always plugged into the passive input on my mag even though my basses are active, found the pad too much. the mute is a nice touch and i have the compressor always on so a switch seems a bit point less. Suppose they had to upgrade it somehow but i think they hit the nail on the head first time round
The one thing I wish the original had was the second Speakon socket. All other things I can take or leave really as you say
 14.
My RM-800 just happily survived a UK tour, being used twice each night by myself and the headlining band, so I think we can say that it's proven itself in the reliability stakes. The only criticisms I can level at it are that it could do with a little more power - 1000W would be nice. Although, to be fair, I am using it to drive a Barefaced Big Twin II which can absorb a ridiculous amount of power. And I'll second the non-switchable subharmonics criticism - it accidentally got turned up a couple of times on tour leading to a less-than-desirable tone.
Interesting you want more power! I've still not peaked mine yet, it's perfect for my set up thankfully. Glad they've given the EVO head two Speakon connectors, that would be the one thing I'd like on mine TBH...
 15.
I had a good look at the New Rootmaster cabs the other day in my local PMT and first off they look great but I couldn't get over how light the new 210 and 115 cabs are but also stunning quality and love the new bar handle design too. Very nicely priced too considering horn with 3 way switch and speakon/Jack combi connectors aswell. Well done Ashdown, I will be buying 2 x 210s I reckon
Yep, the old RM210 cab was light but the new one is throwable! (Is that a word?) I can't comment on their sound though as didn't get a chance to make any noise with them at the Bass Show this last weekend.
 16.
In comparison I tried out the Aguilar Tonehammer (which I currently use) with the new Aguilar SL410 and wasn`t that fussed about it. Just kept thinking how much I preferred the Ashdown rig.
Wow praise indeed I'm not sure I'm the resident Ashdown expert, just a sad little man who happens to love their amps and spend too much time talking to them about millions of different cab and amp options and ending up with something completely different
 17. Excellent, glad you like All your comments are exactly the same as my experiences which is nice!
 18.
Or buy my full fat ABM combo in the for sale section for 300 notes. Same dimensions as the Neo and looks brand new.
That's a steal!
 19.
I may sell mine , depending on how my band rehearsal goes today with my new Super compact .
I did exactly that almost exactly 2 years ago! The SC is my favourite bass cab ever and when I no longer have lots of other "more important" (hmmmpf ) things to pay off I'll get another!
 20.
I was hoping for a Trace Elliot presence following my rekindled love affair with the brand and would have liked to have asked about future products like a lightweight Class D head. Shame that we lost a great British company when they were taken over by Peavey. Speaking to Mark Vanderkley about his new 500w head/combo was interesting and as we know Mark is producing some great gear at the moment - look forward to seeing his new creations.
Did you look at the Ashdown Retroglide? That could be worth a poke if you want the Trace thing in a lightweight form
 21. Very nice!
 22. Pester the chaps, they might cave in I think it was the RM cab, it was set up near the front of their stand with a chrome ABM and the RM on top of it
 23. Only managed an hour in the morning before being whisked off to the London Eye by my son, so I think I only saw Dood, Hamster, Skelf and TomKent from these shores. Alan's basses were even more delightful this year than in previous years, thankfully Theo (mini Mert) was the perfect foil to me getting my credit card out
